Fortnite V 12.50 Update - Description of Changes

We're putting together our unofficial Fortnite 12.50 patch notes! We are trying to collect all the changes, updates and bug fixes from the most recent patch. Epic doesn't post their patch notes as regularly, so we've gone ahead and created our own version! You can find information about everything that has been added in the post below.
DATE AND TIME OF THE PATCH RELEASE
Fortnite Patch 12.50 is out today, April 29th! You can expect a couple of hours of downtime after adding it to the game.
UNOFFICIAL 12.50 PATCH NOTES
Here we will detail all the updates and changes that have been added to the game and have not been covered by Epic:
Today's new Fortnite update (v12.50) contains information about the heavy sniper rifle and aim assist (AIM Assist), as well as some other minor changes and bug fixes.
NERF HEAVY SNIPER RIFLE
The Heavy Sniper Rifle is the only weapon that has received any changes in the new Fortnite update. When this weapon was introduced, it was liked mainly for its one-shot kill ability, while those in the sniper's scope were visibly disappointed.
Epic Games has finally decided to make changes to the Heavy Sniper Rifle in Fortnite, doing away with her unstoppable. Previously, the damage for Heavy Sniper Rifle was 150/157 for Epic and Legendary rarity respectively. However, this has now been significantly reduced to 126/132.
It seems that some players are happy with the game, but others still want the weapon to be put to rest. It's unlikely that Epic will remove the heavy sniper from the game once it's repaired, but we'll have to wait and see.
AIM ASSIST NERF
There has been a long debate about controller aim assist and how it gives players a huge advantage over keyboard and mouse players. Epic has made changes to help in the past and made another one in today's 12.50 update.
Aiming change helps AA at 240Hz act like AA at 60Hz, which affects target acquisition. Research and testing will continue and all feedback will be considered for changes to further the goal.
OPERATION: PAYLOAD
Operation: Payload is a new spy mode. Players can use current and new technologies to protect/escort payloads against the opposing team. The game mode switches sides and takes you to different parts of the island.
Error correction
As always, Epic Games has introduced a number of bug fixes to the game as they try to iron out issues and improve the quality of life for players. You can view the complete list taken from Community Trello games below.
