Fortnite V 12.60 Update - Description of Changes

Epic didn't post their patch notes as regularly, so we went ahead and created our own version! You can find information about everything that has been added in the post below.

DATE AND TIME OF UPDATE 12.60 RELEASE

Fortnite Update 12.60 has been officially announced and will be released on Wednesday, May 20th at 9:00 UTC! You can expect at least a couple of hours of downtime after it takes effect.

Here we will detail all the updates and changes that have been added to the game that have not been covered by Epic. 

Aim assist for PC!

There is no precise description of what these changes might look like, or how a powerful target adjustment will work when it goes into effect. For now, we only know when the state of Fortnite will be adjusted after weeks of criticism from the community.

What to expect in the v12.60 update

Doomsday event progress

Based on everything that's been going on behind the scenes at The Agency, the prevailing view among the player base is that there will be some sort of event going on that will help move Fortnite from S2 to S3. Because it doesn't have an official name yet, most fans refer to it as "The Doomsday Event" and as recently as May 19, some data collectors noticed that the various cables that were added to The Agency were now active.

In addition, renowned data scientist iFireMonkey has estimated that the next phase of preparation for this event, which will be phase 3, will take place on May 20 at 7:00 PT / 10 AM ET, which means that the v12.60 update is likely to add or change what - something that starts this next phase.

Possibly a new weapon

New weapons are something many players desire every time major updates are announced, but there's a chance we'll finally see at least one with this patch.

It's been about a month since HYPEX released a new weapon from the background game files called the Charge Shotgun, and there are some who think the first one could be added as early as May 20th.

While this would be fantastic news for those looking for a push for new content, chances are Epic will wait until the new season to release something as big as a new weapon. However, with these developers, no one ever knows what's in their head.

Here are the current stats, in rarity order from common to legendary:

– Body damage (1 granule = * 0.10): 68 > 77 > 85 > 95 > 102
- Headshot/pellet multiplier can be: x1.5
- It also has "Damage Charge Multiplier": Min. = X1 & Max. = x1.75
- Charging time 1 sec.

Possibly new hidden trials

Epic is releasing hidden challenges with almost every major patch. They involved teddy bears and gnomes at war with each other. This battle may be over because we recently disarmed two factions, but I wouldn't be surprised if another hidden challenge comes out. Possible additional tests

When a season is extended, we usually get a series of challenges that we can complete for additional styles for our Battle Pass skins. I expect them to be revealed in this or the next patch!

AGENCY IN THE POWER OF THE SHADOW

The most central location of the island of Fortnite will be redone and will officially go into the possession of the Shadow. More see HERE!

BUG FIXES IN FORTNITE 12.60 UPDATE

Here are the bug fixes for patch 12.60. 

• ♦Dragacorn Glider animation changed, no longer disabled in competitive playlists 
• ♦Riot Control: Baton Pickaxe issue resolved, no longer disabled in competitive playlists.
• ♦Fixed a bug that sometimes caused hit/damage indicators to appear from the wrong direction than the source of the damage.

CREATIVE

• ♦Players on mobile devices will no longer see a seam running through the middle of the island.

SAVE THE WORLD

• ♦Exploding death bombs will no longer damage the target through builds.
• ♦Fixed a bug due to which Black Metal Weapons did not take into account the amount of self-damage when performing critical hits.
• ♦ Dropping or spawning a weapon will no longer lose ammo.
