Star Wars skins should be back for the Fortnite 20.30 update.
It's been less than a month since Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 started and we've already received two Battle Royale updates. Fortnite Update 20.30 is next in line, and we know it's not too far off.
Since the last two updates have not been particularly significant, we expect 20.30 to be big. The latest rumors, which we will talk about below, say that we are right.
When will Fortnite 20.30 be released?
Like every other regular Fortnite update, the Fortnite 20.30 update will release on Tuesday morning, May 3rd.
The patch will begin rolling out at 8am ET, but the servers will remain down for some time after that.
What is server downtime?
As we said, the Fortnite server will be unresponsive for a while before the Fortnite 20.30 update goes live for everyone to download.
From 12:00 PM PDT/8:00 AM BST, the Fortnite servers are to be shut down, which will disable matchmaking as well. You can check @FortniteStatus on Twitter as soon as it happens.
Over the next few hours, while the servers are down, Insiders will try to figure out what the patch will bring. This time we know quite a lot about what to expect, which we'll talk about below.
No later than 10:00 AM PDT / 11:00 AM UK time, Fortnite should be back to normal with all the new content for you to check out.
The return of Star Wars skins to Fortnite
The Fortnite 20.30 update will release on May 3rd, and there's one subtle detail: Star Wars Day is only one day later.
Various Star Wars skins came to Fortnite a couple of years ago, returning on May 4, 2020.
Again, they should be back with the 20.30 update in a couple of weeks.
Other Fortnite star wars content
This is unlikely to be the end of the Star Wars content included in the 20.30 update.
First of all, the data miners have found the NPC Stormtrooper, who was added in the 20.20 update, and you will be able to find them all over the island soon. All they will do is yell "rebel scum" at you when you get too close. They don't do anything else.
We won't be surprised if more Star Wars NPCs are added to the game with the update, so stay tuned.
All sorts of Star Wars content could also be added to Fortnite with the 20.30 update. Rumors have swirled over the past few months that an entire season of Star Wars is in the works. Some players even expected Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 to be entirely Star Wars focused.
Whether it's changes to the Star Wars planet map, more NPCs wandering around named locations, or famous ships flying overhead, the possibilities are endless.
