League of Legends Update 10.15 - New Champion Yumi, Swain buff, Aphelia nerf and more
The League of Legends 10.15 patch is on the horizon, and with it comes a hefty block of buffs and nerfs. Yumi, Swain and Skarner are getting buffs, while the notorious Aphelios is in the nerf line of fire. Here's everything you need to know about Riot's scheduled July 21 update.
The League of Legends balancing act is starting to become an interesting sight as Riot Games' international title championship looms on the horizon. Developer Mark Yetter said that work has already begun on "shaping the meta for the World Cup."
According to gameplay designer Riot, there are several important changes that will be added to live servers during League Patch 10.15. Front and center is the controversial laner bot Aphelios, which will have its turret rebalanced on July 21st.
Yumi, who has also drawn the ire of League fans, will also work in the next cycle. However, she will return the energy to her kit. The main tweak for the Magical Cat will be related to her passive mana regeneration.
Yetter also opened up two fixes for Skarner and Swain. A diamond-built JG will receive Q damage bonuses as well as a modified mana cost. Swain, on the other hand, mostly changes the cooldown.
“Swain’s balance goal is to help both solo lanes and support players equally,” Yetter said on Twitter following the release of the planned patch cycle changes. "[These changes should] skew it a bit in high Elo because it's currently stomping in low Elo."
Tank jungler variants Ornn, Lee Sin, Twisted Fate, Thresh, and Fiddlesticks are also set to take damage in 10.15. Shen, Gregas, Irelia and Caitlin are all in line to get promoted in the next cycle, Riot confirmed.

Rune and Item Changes
In the non-champion changes, Spellthief's Edge base support item is also receiving buffs. The default mage-based item that eventually evolves into Ice Fang and True Ice Shard has dropped by the wayside to its more tanky counterpart in Relic Shield.
Finally, the Summoner Spellbook rune will be removed during LoL Patch 10.15. A currently popular choice of runes allows you to replace equipped summoner spells with a "new one-time spell". Yetter did not reveal how they would harness the rune.
League of Legends patch 10.15 is due out on Tuesday, July 21st. We look forward to receiving full details of all upcoming changes as soon as the Riot developers reveal specific numbers on buffs and nerfs, and will update once they're released.
