League of Legends Update 10.20: Varus and Aatrox Buffs, Katarina Nerf, and More

League of Legends patch 10.20 is next on the menu as online rankings move away from the competitive league during the World Championships. Here are all of Riot's planned buffs, nerfs, and changes coming with the scheduled LoL update on September 29th.
World Championship starts this Friday and will remain on patch 10.19 for the duration of the six week event. This gives Riot the ability to tweak some champions specifically for ranking without the developers accidentally ruining the LoL competitive meta.
This means that patch 10.20 will bring some extraordinary changes. These include new changes for Ryze, Aatrox, and Varus, all of which have been horrors in pro play.
In this update, the competitive trio will be joined by Illaoi and Braum, who will receive buffs. Top lane juggernauts Sion and Urgot will also get some interesting tweaks in this patch - the pair will have some power transferred to their jungle abilities outside of roles.
The League of Legends 10.20 patch will also provide over half a dozen champion nerfs to slightly reduce their power in Summoner's Rift.
Katarina leads the champions on the shooting range. According to the League of Legends statistics tracking website, Lolalytics , the Explosive Assassin Mage went Rampant in 10.19 and currently boasts a 52,47% win rate and 6,56% pick rate .
Other powerhouses currently dominating the platinum and above rankings include Lulu (52,19% win rate), Nunu (53,37%), and Karthus of the Forest (51,83%). All three will be nerfed in the September 29th update.
These strong 10.19 peaks will be joined by Kassadin, Kled and Maokai. Kassadin and Maokai both have win rates above 50% for multiple patches in a row. Kled also stays close to the cutoff and has a 2,03% play factor.
Finally, the 3rd slot rune "Merciless Hunter" will be weakened. At the moment, the rune is based on earning "bounties" that grant extra movement speed out of combat for all of your unique eliminations in a match.
