League of Legends Update 10.24: Samira and Eclipse Nerf, Kraken Slayer Buff, and More

patch

Riot Games has confirmed that Season 11's first update, the League of Legends 10.24 Pre-Season Patch, will release at the end of this PBE cycle and will be headlined by a host of buffs and nerfs for new Mythic items. Here are all the first notes for the November 25th update.

patch

League of Legends' next update is expected to be "pretty big," the LoL balancing team warned, as Riot Games looks to deal with the fallout from Season 11's massive item overhaul.

A number of new mythic items, including Eclipse, Kraken Slayer, Liandry's Anguish and many more, are in the line of fire. Several champions are also changing, including the new release Sameer, Tryndamere and Kayle.

Here are all the details about the League of Legends 10.24 update, which will be released in the next two weeks.

Riot rush out Mythic item changes

The 10.24 LoL patch title change is happening in the items section. Mythic items dominated the early stages of Season 11 —not surprising considering they're extremely new.

However, Riot didn't plan on how powerful some of the single-slot picks would be when they were released in Summoner's Rift. This includes Eclipse, Kraken Slayer, as well as Liandri's Anguish, and a host of other high-end items for a complete build.

These mythical nerfs will also stack with a few buffs to improve underperforming Season 11 items. Tear of the Goddess and Kraken Slayer lead the buffs, while ADC items like Essence Reaver and Phantom Dancer are also included.

Samira is one of the few champions to be nerfed in patch 10.24.
Samira is one of the few champions to have been nerfed in patch 10.24.

“Statistically, Kraken [Slayer] was worse than the other two [Galeforce and Shieldbow], so buffing him should help a bit,” Riot developer Ray Williams said on Reddit shortly after patch 10.24 changes were discovered.

He also confirmed that Eclipse's "proc rate" will be the primary target of the Mythic item nerf in patch 10.24.

"It's the highest win rate for most users, and it's the widest choice for assassins, fighters, and shooters," he said, "so it has to give power somewhere."

New "Cosmic" skins coming in update 10.24

The next line of League of Legends skins, Cosmic, will arrive in LoL update 10.24. Nine Champions are in line to receive new cosmetics, including often-forgotten characters like Illaoi, Vladimir, and Skarner the Crystal Forester.

Here is the full list of new Cosmic skins:

  • Nami (Destiny)
  • Nidalee (The Huntress)

League of Legends patch 10.24 will be released on Wednesday, November 25th. Dexerto will continue to add all planned balance changes when Riot releases specific numbers.
