League of Legends Update 11.5: Seraphina Nerf, Master Yi and Samira Buffs

The description of the League of Legends 11.5 update provides an opportunity to get acquainted in detail with all the changes that will appear in the game with the release of the latest patch.

Riot is aiming to address a number of "problematic" Season 11 champions in League patch 11.5, including some of the newest Summoner Rift faces.

Samira, Senna and Serafina - all of whom enjoyed being at the top of the meta at various stages in early 2021 - all received a mixed bag of buffs and nerfs on March 3rd."

Top pros like Azir and Rell will also be nerfed.

Riot is also ready to release a fun new cosmetic set, the Bee skin line. In the next patch, this honey flavored set will be limited to just three lucky champions.

Update 11.5 brings a new sticky line of LoL skins to the game.

Serafina and Senna 

The biggest change coming in patch 11.5 is that Seraphina's bot lane role has been nerfed quite a bit. Senna and her "fasting" variant will also suffer.

Serafina has become rampant at the bottom since her release, often taking on the role of "APC" instead of ADC.

In fact, according to a reliable LoL stats site Lolalytics , she currently has a monstrous win rate of 57,79%. For comparisons: season 11's shock breakout champion, the spirited jungler Udyr, wins only 55,51% of his games.

Riot tries to knock Stareye Singer off a bit by damaging her notes.

Senna was also forced to take the hit. Initially, she was going to deal with the crit increase nerf, mainly due to her win rate in the bot (9,58% of the sample) and as a post support (11,96%). But none of these changes made it into the official 11.5 patch notes.

Azir and Rell under the microscope

With over a month of competitive play in League of Legends, Riot Games has turned its attention to the best champions.

This includes the Shuriman Emperor Azir and the armored warrior Rell.

Both have been instrumental in the string of LCS victories over the past few rounds. According to OracleElixir.com Azir is present in 42,2% of all games in North America with a win rate of 53%, while Rell has a huge presence at 86,7%.

Gragas and Udyr, who have so far been two of the shockers in pro play this season, will also be getting a nerf. Their mana cost and health will be reduced accordingly.

LoL Item Shop Gets "Starter Packs"

Starting with this patch, Riot plans to roll out a new feature to the LoL Item Shop: Starter Packs.

These new "sets" will "determine which combinations of items are most often purchased first," explained the Twitter Riot developer Jordan Checkman. Once this data is received, the Item Shop will aggregate this data together to create comprehensive recommendations.

Example sets include Doran's Blade and a healing potion, Doran's Ring and two healing potions, or Doran's Shield and a healing potion. All three cost 500 gold.

What will be in the League of Legends 11.5 patch?

New skins on the theme of bees.

The next line of League skins, the Bee themed pack, will be coming in patch 11.5. Three champions are in line for new cosmetics, including the hyperspace Kog'Maw.

Here are all the champions that received the new Bee skins:

  • Kog'Mau ⁠ - Bee Mouth (1350 RP)
  • Malazahar ⁠ - Bizahar (1350 RP)
  • Yumi ⁠ - Yuubi (1350 RP)

Hecarim is also getting a small visual update in LoL 11.5. 

This graphical update will apply to all Shadow of War skins ⁠ - including Arcade, High Noon, Cosmic Charger and more ⁠ - and should "upgrade" its appearance.

AZIR

Damage to sand warriors from Rise! [W] decreased.

 Balancing Azir's power curve by nerfing his early lane control ability.

SAND WARRIORS DAMAGE 60-160 (at levels 1-18)  50-150 (at levels 1-18).
 

GRAGAS

The mana cost of Barrel [Q] is now independent of skill level.

 Weaken the brawling Gragas of the top lane, increasing the cost of his drink.

JAX

Increased attack power growth.

 Now Jax with the Trinity will be able to beat enemies even harder.

KARMA

Inner Flame [Q] cooldown has been reduced.

 Despite being buffed in 11.3, Support Karma is not going to cheer up. We reviewed her latest changes and decided to partially roll back the 10.16 Cycle Debuffs to reignite her flames.

The additional damage of Biomagic Barrage [W] has been increased at higher skill levels.

We're increasing the causticity of his acid so he can kick the hell out of everyone again! *fanfare*

MASTER YI

Wuju Style E base damage increased.

 After Patch 11.1's nerfs and forest changes, Master Yi has fallen out of shape. We're buffing his E damage to buff all builds and playstyles - especially with an emphasis on attack speed. 

WOOJU STYLE [E]

BASE DAMAGE 18/26/34/42/50  20/30/40/50/60.

PIKE

The amount of gray health Pyke retains has been reduced, but now scales with lethality and increases when there are enemies near Pyke.

 Decreasing Pyke's survivability in the mid lane to raise Pyke's support from the bottom. 

GIFT OF THE DROWNED (PASSIVE)

SAVED GRAY HEALTH 25-50% of damage taken (at levels 1-18)  10% of damage taken (+25% lethality), increased to 35% damage taken (+50% lethality) when there are 2 or more nearby enemies.

KIANA

The bonus damage of Elemental Power [W] has been increased. Demonstrate Talent [R] damage increased at high skill levels.

 To be strong, Qiyana needs to travel to other lanes in the early stages of the match, which is why she only really shines at the highest level of the game. At a professional level, coordination is usually good, so it is not so easy to catch enemies by surprise. In order for Qiana to win like a king more often, we are increasing her base scaling and giving players another incentive to level up [W] faster. Now no one can resist her. 

ELEMENTAL POWER [W]

ADDITIONAL DAMAGE 8/16/24/32/40 (+30% AP)  8/22/36/50/64 (+45% AP).

RAMMUS

Health growth reduced.

 Rammus may be an armadillo, but lately his shell has become a little too strong - especially at a normal level of play. Decreasing Rammus' health gain so he thinks twice before rolling into combat.

RELL

Armor reduced. Ferromancy: Hard Landing [W1] and Ferromancy: Mounted [W2] reload time increased.

Increased attack power growth. Outrageous [Q] damage coefficient increased at high skill levels.

 The nerfs from the last update hit Samira hard, so we're increasing her scaling so she can send enemies into the heat in the late game.

EPATHAGE [Q]

DAMAGE RATIO 80/87,5/95/102,5/110%  80/90/100/110/120%.

SEDJUANI

Wrath of Winter's second hit damage ratio increased.

 Sejuani could not get used to the new forest. We're buffing her W so that the rider and her boar will crush enemies faster when they hit with both parts of the skill. 

WRATH OF WINTER [W]

SECOND HIT DAMAGE RATIO 5,25% of Sejuani's maximum health  6% of Sejuani's maximum health.

SERAFINA

Damage reduction when hitting Stage Charm (passive) with notes again has been removed; Allied note damage reduced. The cooldown of Encore Performance [R] has been increased.

 Serafina doesn't want to leave our roster of troubled champions, so we're nerfing her allies' notes and buffing her own notes instead. That way, she can maintain her influence without raising the power of her fans to the sky. 

STAGE CHARM (PASSIVE)

REMOVEDREPEATED HIT DAMAGE REDUCTION Seraphina's Note damage is no longer reduced when hitting non-minion targets again.
NEWON SING-UP Allied Notes now deal 25% of Seraphina's Note damage to all targets, including minions.
DAMAGE NOTES 4-16 (at levels 1-18)  4/8/14/24 (на уровнях 1/6/11/16).

PERFORMANCE ENCODER [R]

RELOAD 160/140/120 seconds  180/150/120 seconds.

SHAKO

The base damage and damage against one target of the Jester from the box [W] has been reduced; the skill now deals more damage to monsters.

 Shaco keeps the bot lane at bay, but only causes a laugh when playing in the jungle. Therefore, we are making the appropriate changes. 

JESTER FROM THE BOX [W]

BASE DAMAGE 15/20/25/30/35  10/15/20/25/30.
BASE DAMAGE VS SINGLE TARGET 35/50/65/80/95  25/40/55/70/85.
NEWMONSTER DAMAGE Jester from the box now deals an additional 10/20/30/40/50 damage to monsters.

TRANDLE

Cooldown of Bite [Q] has been reduced.

 Let's help the Troll King taste the new season by having a feast in the top lane and in the jungle. 

BITE [Q]

RELOAD 4 seconds  3,5 seconds.

TVWitch

Deadly Poison (Passive) damage ratio per stack has been reduced. Random Shot bonus damage increased; duration is increased.

 A rat with ability power overshadows a rat with attack power. It shouldn't be like that. 

DEADLY POISON (PASSIVE)

DAMAGE RATIO PER STACK 3%  2,5%.

RANDOM SHOOTING [R]

ADDITIONAL DAMAGE 25/40/55  30/45/60.
DURATION OF ACTION 5 seconds  6 seconds.

UDIR

Health growth reduced. Phoenix Stance's R aura damage has been reduced.

 Thanks to new items like the Reactive Chemical Armor, Udyr can run through the woods at super speeds with impunity, and fly into and out of team fights like lightning. We're lowering its clear speed (rerolling the buff from 10.21) and survivability.

VIGO

Fixed several bugs related to Medjai Soul Eater and subduing enemies. The ability to dodge turret projectiles with Right of the Strong (passive skill) has been removed.

 After observing Viego, we found several serious errors. Fixing them will make him a little weaker. 

OTHER

MEDJAI SOUL EATER BUG FIX Viego no longer loses Medjai Soul Eater and Dark Seal charges when subduing an enemy. In addition, he now gains charges of subordinate enemies.
TOO FAR Fixed a bug due to which Viego would sometimes subdue the souls of enemies from a very long distance if he used the skill at the beginning of another subjugation.
TOO FAST Fixed a bug due to which Viego would sometimes subdue the souls of enemies instantly, instead of after 1 second of preparation.

RIGHT OF THE STRONG (PASSIVE)

REMOVEDEVADE TOWERS Viego no longer dodges incoming turret projectiles when he begins to subdue an enemy.

ITEMS

MURAMANA

 Muramana overlaps too much with Essence Reaver, both in terms of stats and scope. In order to better distinguish between these two items, we have slightly changed the Muraman effect. It is now more of a skill buff, while Essence Reaver is more of a skill buff. 
SHOCK Basic Attacks and Skills deal additional Damage to Champions equal to 2,5% of their maximum Mana  Basic attacks deal additional damage equal to 1,5% of your maximum mana. Melee skills deal additional damage equal to 3,5% of maximum mana, and ranged skills deal additional damage equal to 2,7% of maximum mana; all skills also deal bonus damage equal to 6% of total attack power to champions (on-hit auto-attack effects that trigger spell effects are also considered skills in this case).
SHOCK BUG FIX Fixed an issue where Shock could damage multiple champions in a single proc.

Bonebreaker

 Bonebreaker's Charge is less enthusiastic than his Cleave, so we're adjusting the balance between these effects. In general, the strength of the item should remain the same. 
DASH RANGE FROM RESTRAINT CUT 200  300.
RETAINING CUT RATE SPEED Slightly enlarged.
RESTRAINT CUT SLOW 60% (decreases over 2 seconds)  40% (decreases over 2 seconds).
DAMAGE 100% of attack power  75% of attack power.

GINSU'S FURY BLADE

 Some champions (like Senna) benefit too much from Guinsoo's Rageblade, as it can count over 100% crit chance and ignore crit modifiers. We are adding rules that will solve the problem with edge cases. Now the builds of these champions will become more diverse, and the Blade of Fury itself will be useful to more heroes.

Speaking of Senna, now her passive skill can't increase critical strike chance by more than 100%, and the excess will turn into lifesteal in the standard ratio for her. 
UPDATEDANGER Turns critical strike chance into additional physical damage on hit - 2 damage per 1% chance. Wrath counts at most 100% Critical Strike Chance. Wrath damage is now affected by critical damage modifiers.

SNAKE FANG

 Serpent's Fang is a powerful but common and impractical item, so we're making it more useful. Imagine Ghastly Wounds for Shields - but with added benefits! 
UPDATEDSHIELD DESTROYER Damaging an enemy champion reduces the durability of all shields placed on them by 3% for melee champions and 50% for ranged champions for 25 seconds. When you damage an enemy that is not affected by Shield Breaker, you reduce the durability of all shields placed on it by 50% for melee champions and 25% for ranged champions.
BUG FIX ON ITEMS WITH ON-HIT EFFECTS Fixed an issue where Shield Breaker would not reduce the durability of enemy shields if the Serpent Fang wielder had items with on-hit effects.
