League of Legends Update 12.2: Zeri debut, Yasuo and Yone buffs, more details

The League of Legends 12.2 update is here. This time, the LoL developers are reworking Tama Kench and Zhanna, buffing the infamous god brothers Yasuo and Yone, adding a new champion, Zeri, to the mix, and more.

League of Legends Season 12 continues with more than a dozen champions receiving buffs, nerfs and changes, in addition to the debut of a new champion.

Wind Brothers Yasuo and Yone are now getting much-needed buffs after Immortal Shieldbow nerfs in LoL 12.1 hit them harder than Riot expected. According to developer Phlox, they "significantly affected" from the changes, sliding down to a shocking win rate of 47,4%.

In addition, Riot is releasing sixteen new skins.

And finally, mini-alterations Tama Kencha and Zhanna should finally show up. Here are all the details about the League of Legends 12.2 patch, which will be released in the next two weeks.

Next League of Legends Champion, Zerihas finally been revealed. A new AD transfer from Runther Zaun's polluted underground city, she jumps from Arcane to the Summoner's Rift.

Born into a working-class family in an underground city, she fought alone against Zaun's Chembarons who were destroying her homeland. However, her electric charms weren't enough, although her efforts inspired those who suffered under the Himbarons' rule to rebuild their lives.

With the help of Entresol's neighbors, she was able to harness and channel her electrical energy into her emotion-powered rifle and jacket to control her powers.

 Janna hasn't been fun to play over the past few seasons, especially when compared to other bot laners. We've decided to give Stormrage a mini-rework while keeping the classic play style and image intact. We believe that Jeanne is primarily loved for her shields and the ability to help allies, so we are transferring some of the power from her [W] (with debilitating damage) to [E] and [Q]. In addition, we have prepared a number of useful edits, which, we hope, will blow your mind.

SENNA

Auto attacks now slow enemies.

 Senna is pretty weak this season, especially when builds are damage focused. The core element of this playstyle was the old Ice Growth, and since the new version of the rune does not proc from Senna's basic attacks, we decided to give it the ability to slow enemies differently. 


RELEASE (PASSIVE)

NEW POOR VISIBILITY Always active: Senna's basic attacks slow enemies by 20% (+6% per 100 ability power) (+10% per 100 bonus attack damage) for 2 seconds.

SHEN

The damage of Twilight Attack [Q] has been reduced.

 After the changes to Teleport in 12.1, Shen is once again king in terms of map influence from the top lane. We don't want to deprive him of this unique ability, so to restore balance, we reduce the damage in duels.

TAAM KENCH

Q Tongue Slam slow increased. Durable Hide [E] changed; damage stored as gray health reduced (unless there are multiple enemy champions near Tahm Kench). Shield strength for allies from Grab and Swallow [R] has been increased; now increases movement speed when swallowing an ally.

 In the 11.13 update, we reworked Tahm Kench because the old armory gave him huge advantage in highly coordinated games. Back then, our goal was to reduce Kench's appeal to the pros while still maintaining an interesting playstyle and ensuring an acceptable win rate in both roles. (He used to win more often in the top lane than in the support position.)

Tahm Kench's popularity in the professional scene has really gone down, so we've reached that goal. In terms of win rate, the rework did little to close the gap between top lane and support. Moreover, she made him more noticeable. As a result, the players who took Tahm Kench to the bottom lane began to believe that he could not cope with this role. We've been monitoring his condition for a long time and now we're ready to take a riskier step: buffing the support Kench and nerfing the top lane Kench.

Talon will still perform well in the jungle and retain his killer mobility, but perhaps players will now start paying attention to other junglers as well.

BUG FIXES AND USEFUL CHANGES

  • Fixed a bug due to which it was sometimes possible to select objects other than towers as a target for Teleport until the 14th minute.
  • Fixed an issue where Empowered Teleport, which was created by Open Spellbook, would permanently replace one of the Summoner's spells after being used.
  • In games with Zoe, Champions now properly drop Empowered Teleport Spell Shards if used after 14 minutes.
