League of Legends Update 12.4: Renata Debut, Nerf Zero, Shockblade Skins

League of Legends patch 12.4 is on the horizon - Riot Games is preparing to release newly minted Zaun champion Renata Glask, the long-awaited Skin Eco Shockblades in Arcane style, as well as several characters, including pocket rocket Zeri, meta champion Qian, and more.

League of Legends Season 12 is underway and players are already getting another new champion to add to their collections.

Riot Games debuts Zaun Chembaroness Renata Glask. She will be available as early as 12.4 and will arrive along with almost two dozen champion changes. These include redesigned Zeri and Kina that received nerfs - oddly enough, in the same update, Kiana gets a new skin - as well as buffs for Aatrox, Lucian, and more.

When will the League of Legends 12.4 update be released?

Season 12 is finally here and Riot Games are back on their own Regular League of Legends schedulewhen it comes to update cycles and patches hitting the live servers.

This means that players can expect Season 12 Patch 15 to arrive on February 10th. Tuesday's update will begin at XNUMXam on the Oceania servers before rolling out to the rest of the world throughout the rest of the day.

Renata Glask in Summoner's Rift

The second new League of Legends season 12 champion has finally been revealed: Renata Glask, Chemical Baroness.

In terms of knowledge, Renata is a member of the aristocracy in the polluted city of Zaun, running Glasc Industries with the intention of "redefining beauty with modern technology" while bringing Chemtech to the masses.

In the game, she is a support whose kit is to power up her enemies with her array of Chemtech gadgets. With a "mind control" element to finally turn her enemies against her, and a pseudo-respawn on her W, she's a sorcerer like no other.

Riot Games has confirmed that Renata Glask will be available to play on the League of Legends 12.4 patch, which will be released on February 16, 2022.

Nerfs Zeri and Top Smite

There are two big targets in Riot's scope for the LoL 12.4 update: the newly released champion Zeri and the top meta Smite. While over a dozen balance changes are expected, these are big changes.

Zeri will change almost every part of his kit in an attempt to move from the less traditional AP builds to the more critical marksman build.

As for the arcane top lane strategy with Smite, Riot is doing it in two ways with big changes to Objective Bounties and support items. Target bounties will now be halved if teams have multiple support items, while the penalty for farming early with a support item will be increased.

Other meta picks like Qiyana will see some changes, while lesser flavor of the month options like Calista will be boosted. However, Master Yi's planned changes have been put on hold as Riot rethinks its approach.

Firelight, Shockblade skins

The most notable skin release coming in 12.4 is the return of "Ekko", the highly anticipated Arcane crossover that was sent to developers for tweaks in late 2021 at the height of the show's popularity.

Along with the new look, Ekko, Kassadin, Shen, and Qiyana will also be getting shocking new versions of the "Shockblade" skin line to match the iconic Zed variants.
