League of Legends Update 12.6: Rengar Rework and Lifesteal Decreases
League of Legends Patch 12.6 is Coming - After a Long Lay, Riot Returns with Big Rengar Overhaul, Meta Champion Nerfs Hecarim (Hecarim) and Trindamir (Tryndamere) and big lifesteal changes. Here are the full fix notes for the late March update.
Have you been waiting for the League of Legends 12.6 patch for a while? It's been like an eternity since the last major update went live in early March, although the b-patch released a week later certainly helped shake up the AD carry meta.
It's back to normal, although Riot is moving forward with a regular patch schedule. There's a lot on the radar: meta champions like Hecarim, getting ready for nerfs, and reworking Rengar, promised for several months, is finally happening.
Oh, and in case you forgot, Anima Squad skins and events should be around the corner as well.
Here's what you need to know about the League of Legends 12.6 patch, including the full patch notes.

What's coming in League of Legends 12.6?
Rengar's remake finally goes live after months of fiddling
It's been in development for months, but in LoL update 12.6 it's finally coming: a mini Rengar rework. Major changes to Pridestalker came through a few introductions, but Riot has finally settled on something that both players enjoy and would be healthy in increasing his skill.
These include more uptime on his passive ferocity, longer jump range, guaranteed crits on his Q, and a reduction in his throw time. The changes, which Riot says are purely "positive", only open up his build paths from the RNG builds he should have chosen for maximum damage.
Otherwise, on the buff front, Azir gains a health buff level that, as many joke, could put him back in the pros' spotlight. Darius, Jax and Nidalee are also getting lifts across the board.
Azir buffs? Faker is calling.
Rengar Changes
- Invisible Predator (Passive). The character will now gain a Rage charge on their first jump if their gauge is empty. The set of stacks for using basic skills will remain the same. They will now disappear after 10 seconds out of combat instead of 8. The jump distance will be increased to 750 units instead of 725. The trophy time for Necklace of Tooth will now be 3 seconds instead of 1,5.
- "Wildness" (Q). Each percentage of critical hit chance will increase the skill's damage by one. The skill can be applied to towers.
- Throw Bolas (E). The skill can be cast without animation while jumping. The hit enemy will be highlighted for 2 seconds.
- "The Thrill of the Hunt" (R). The ultimate will now highlight a small area near enemy champions.
Meta Champion Nerfs
Since Xin Zhao's nerfs, Hecarim has been at the top of the league's jungler tier list. However, the horse is reined in in LoL 12.6 with some nerfs to his base damage on Q and E. While this doesn't affect his usefulness, Hecarim should now be slightly weaker at all levels - especially with his tanks.
Tryndamere suffered the same fate after dominating the top lane meta. His Ultimate is getting a cooldown boost to stop the constant tower sinking, while the cooldown reduction on his crit-based E spin is also nervy.
These are the only two championship nerfs planned so far for the next League of Legends update.
Hecarim boasts a 50,28% win rate across all ranks, but one of the highest jungle presences in the game.
- Hecarim. Base damage Q will decrease from 60-208 to 60-180 units depending on the level of pumping. The minimum and maximum damage E will also be reduced to 30-90 and 60-180 respectively (currently 30-110 and 60-220).
- Trindamir. The cooldown on E for a critical hit against minions and monsters will now be 0,75 seconds (now 1) and 1,5 seconds (now 2) for such damage against a champion. The cooldown of the ultimate will increase from 110-90 to 130-90 seconds.
Changes to lifesteal focus on rejigging the meta
As part of their overall goal of cutting down on healing and support in League of Legends, Riot are making a major lifesteal pass in LoL 12.6.
Pick items from basic lifesteal all the way up to Immortal Shieldbow, which have their power shifted from their life stats to more combat stats like AD or health.
Fleet Footwork and Legend: Bloodline in the Precision tree runes are also being nerfed, while Ravenous Hunter domination is being removed for Treasure Hunter, a new rune that grants bonus gold on your first takedown on each respective enemy, equal to 550 gold injections after five unique kills and assistants.
New Anima Squad Skins
Get ready for battle in LoL update 12.6 with a brand new skin line and Anima Squad event. Once only a standalone skin - Battle Bunny Riven - Ionian Exile is now getting new friends and battle partners in the March 30 update.
