League of Legends Update 12.8: Zoe and Xerath Buff, Pyke and Jinx Nerf

The League of Legends 12.8 update is just around the corner - and it will be the biggest patch before MSI. See what the next League update brings, including meta AD nerfs for Pyke and Jinx, Swain's overhaul, and new Eclipse skins.

Riot Games has been tweaking the pro champion selection a lot lately - it's time to prepare for MSI 2022 - and LoL 12.8 patch will be focused on the future action.

First on the list is meta AD for and their changes Jinx и Shai. However, a number of tweaks are leaking across the Rift, including Swain's long-awaited "medium scale update" - or mini-remake, in layman's terms.

There will also be new skins: standalone skins for Gangplank and Yasuo, as well as new cosmetics in the Eclipse line.

LoL patch 12.8 has a lot of information to explore, so here's everything you need to know, including what changes are coming up and when the official patch notes will be released.

Riot Games

Bard gets an unexpected buff in League patch 12.8.

League of Legends Update 12.8 Goes Live April 27 2022 years.

The eighth major patch of 2022 will begin rolling out to the Oceania servers at 10am AEST, with worldwide rollouts occurring throughout the rest of the day.

Here are the key times:

  • 3am P.T. (NA)
  • 5 am GMT (EUW)
  • 3am CET (EUNE)
  • 8am KST (Korea)
  • 13:00 Moscow time

There will be several hours of downtime when the fix begins, and matchmaking queues will be disabled approximately three hours prior.

What's changing in LoL 12.8 update?

Meta AD Jinx and Shaya get nerfed ahead of MSI

Riot Games

Arcane star and ADC League top pick Jinx is getting a small nerf in patch 12.8.

Yes, meta champions Jinx and Shaya are getting a small nerf in this patch.

Shai's hit will become a little less punishable at higher levels with a pretty decent damage reduction on her W and a slightly longer cooldown.

As for Jinx, she will be even a little weaker and her base health will drop from 610 to 560, which should make players think twice about getting really aggressive with her early in the game.

Swain gets a makeover

Swain is finally getting a facelift in LoL update 12.8.

Swain's plumbing networks have been preparing for the changes to the Noxian Grand General for months. Now, with LoL 12.8, Riot is making those wishes come true.

The goal of the "mid-sight upgrade" is to push Swain back to the top and middle lanes, away from his current support play style. This is done by heavily investing in his ideology of drainage tanks.

No gem is left untouched as Riot tweaks its damage and sustain, with the trade-off meaning it will be less effective at blocking targets.

Lunar and solar eclipse skins

Riot Games

The new Solar Eclipse Sivir skin is one of six new League cosmetic parts in the Eclipse lineup.

The battle between skylight and darkness comes to the Rift with new Lunar Eclipse and Solar Eclipse skins, as well as new cosmetics for Yasuo and Gangplank.

Themed skins this time have insane lighting effects for various abilities to give champions extra flair.

League's Eclipse skin universe will reinvent six characters with a new look and even a prestigious uniform for one of the entries:

  • Solar Eclipse Cale
  • Solar eclipse Sivir
  • Solar eclipse of Sehuani
  • Lunar eclipse Aatrox
  • Lunar eclipse of Senna
    • Lunar eclipse Prestige Senna

Each champion will also receive eight-piece Chromas this time around, with the exception of Sivir, who has five.

Take a look at the full LoL 12.8 patch notes below. We will update this article with any changes announced prior to the April 27 update release date.
