Overwatch Halloween 2020 Update Significantly Buffs Soldier 76: Patch Notes
The Overwatch Halloween Terror event hit the live servers on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and with it came some huge Soldier 76 buffs, major bug fixes, and a nice lift change.
The main thing about this patch, with the exception of the Halloween event, which introduces new and classic skins, is Soldier 76's buffs.
Although the buffs were experimentally tested a few weeks ago, they did not appear in the game until October 13th.
Soldier 76's Heavy Pulse Rifle has now had its bullet dispersion completely removed, but its bullet damage has been reduced from 20 to 19. However, to compensate for this, its ammo has been increased from 25 to 30.
Needless to say, the 76th has a lot more power than before.
Additionally, elevators on Hollywood and Volskaya will no longer go up and down when no one is on them. Instead, they will only be activated when the player sits down from below.
This is a long-requested change that should make climbing more stable, especially for heroes without movement abilities.
Junkstein's revenge is back.
In terms of bug fixes, there is a major change in Widowmaker that prevents it from using its Grapple and keep it cool . This should make it easier to deal with the deadliest sniper in the game.
I hope these changes help make the game much better.

GENERAL UPDATES
Feature Update: Improved Profanity Filter
We're making changes to how the profanity filter works to give players more control over the types of words they see. Instead of just turning the profanity filter on/off, there are now three levels of profanity filtering.
- ➤FRIENDLY - We will do our best to filter out all words that are currently identified as obscene, vulgar or offensive in our constantly updated list. This is the most suitable environment for a family holiday.
- ➤MATURE - You may see some obscene or vulgar language with this setting, but we will filter out expressions determined to be highly offensive.
- ➤NO FILTER - Nothing will be filtered. Be aware that you may see extremely profanity. This option is not recommended.
Along with the new three levels of filtering, we will now allow players to have different profanity filter settings for each communication channel. These channels include:
- GENERAL CHAT
- MATCH CHAT
- TEAM CHAT
- PARTY CHAT
- in a whisper
For example, you can use a stronger friendly profanity filter setting for more public channels such as GENERAL CHAT or AGREED CHAT, but use the MATURE setting for a more private PARTY CHAT.
PLEASE NOTE: Using any of the profanity filters prevents players from using profanity and we encourage you to report these examples if you encounter them.
See In-Game Rules behavior Blizzard Entertainment for more information on acceptable behavior. Using a language that is reported by the community and deemed offensive by Blizzard will result in severe account restrictions.
Function update: elevator adjustment
Elevators will now wait at the bottom of their path until the player reaches the platform. After a short delay, the platform rises quickly. When the elevator reaches the top, it stops briefly before returning to the bottom.
Developer Comment: We've received quite a bit of feedback regarding the unreliability of the circular elevators in Hollywood and Volsk Industries. In an effort to improve this experience, we have reworked the elevators on both maps so that they no longer spin indefinitely. We hope this change will make elevators a faster and more reliable way to transport vertically, as well as provide nearby players with a fair warning that an elevator is in use with updated sound effects.
