TFT Update 11.6: Kennen Nerfs, Katarina and Talon Buffs
With the advent of set 5, patch 11.6 for TFT will be small. However, buffs to Warlords and Assassins and debuffs to Guardians may change the meta somewhat as the Fates near their end.
Patches for TFT are winding down as Riot goes into full swing for the 5th set. With only six weeks left until the release, more details should come soon. This also means that nothing will change in the Fate meta in the next three patches.
Riot still wants the game to be as balanced as possible as the World Cup approaches. Guardians, Warlords, and Assassins are the big three that are currently highlighted in TFT 11.6 early testing. Here's what we know so far.
When will the TFT 11.6 update be released?
TFT Patch 11.6 is expected to be released on Wednesday, March 17, along with with the League of Legends update .
Queues typically shut down at around 5:8 AM (local time) on the day of the update, and the update starts around XNUMX:XNUMX AM (local time). Be sure to check your servers for the exact times.
What will happen to the TFT 11.6 patch?
Kennen dealt another blow to the Guardians
Watchmen rose as a surprise meta-composition of TFT patch 11.4. Although in patch 11.5 they've been nerfed, Riot won't stop in the next update.
Instead of targeting the whole lane, the main carry Kennen is now at the turn. The nerfs are not something to write about - just a slight reduction in his damage at a two-star rating - but it's evidence that the Guardians are still viable.
They won't be dropping out of the meta in 11.6 due to this change, but there could be even more nerfs before the release on March 17th.
Irelia and Yene are also on the wheelhouse.
Katarina's buffs can help warlords
Katarina is one of three Warlords currently gaining buffs in TFT 11.6. Riot is testing changes for Garen, V and Assassin for three costs on PBE.
Katarina's damage on two stars is increasing, helping her throughout the game. V's ability damage on two and three stars has also increased, as has Garen's three-star power. Ultimately, this should slightly improve chasing down three-star Warlords, especially the cheap ones.
Talon is also featured for buffs, and Enlightened Assassin gets a lot of support with one and two stars. Zed also appears in the changelogs.
