TFT Update 12.4 : Neon Nights, New Champion Pack and Heck 6.5
The first big update of 2022 is here for Teamfight Tactics with the 12.4 TFT patch marking the launch of Neon Nights. The Mid-Set update for TFT Set 6.5 includes over 20 new champions and traits, many new cosmetics, and some quality of life changes.
When will the TFT 12.4 patch be released?
TFT patch 12.4 is expected to be released on Wednesday, February 16 2022 year, right on time. Servers typically shut down around 5am local time (depending on location) and open backups at 8am.
Oceania is the first region to receive the patch, with notes usually disappearing when the patch starts in Australia. The global rollout will then begin within the next 24 hours.
What will be in TFT-patch 12.4?
Launch of Neon Nights: New Champions and Traits
As with every Mid-Set release, Neon Nights will include an update to the TFT Set 6 champion roster and traits. This is the biggest one yet, with Riot replacing 21 units and five traits with new options.
Five Champions Debut in TFT, Including Newly Released Champions Zeri и Renata, as well as the antagonist Arcane Silko. Corky and Alistair will also make their first appearance on TFT, along with re-releases of Ahri, Draven, Morgana and more.
Silko is the first TFT Champion outside of League of Legends.
In terms of traits, Academy and Imperial are out, with Debonair and Hextech taking their place. Mastermind, Opponent and Striker also join the roster.
This is in addition to over 80 new Hextech Augments that diversify the range that already exists in the game.
Riot adds a Blitz-inspired search feature in the client
Scouting tools like Blitz were once controversial in the TFT space, providing players with easy-to-follow information about their upcoming rivals. Some called it a scam, but Riot decided to embrace it instead.
The developers added it to the game - instead of requiring a third-party app - keeping track of which opponents you have yet to fight at this stage. This is along with the new Future Sight Augment which highlights the precise combat you will face next.
"We've wanted this to happen ever since we've seen it in other apps to help us focus on the things that matter: rolling, reconnaissance, and not turning." said the developers on Twitter.
New battle pass and tactics for TFT Set 6.5
It wouldn't be a new TFT release if it wasn't for the new cosmetics. The 12.4 TFT patch will launch a new Battle Pass - Gizmos & Gadgets Pass II - along with new tactics that fit the Neon Nights theme.
Abyssia is a new Tactician archetype coming to TFT with a high-tech theme inspired by the project. The new Plant Buddy Sprite will be included in the Battle Pass, along with new Fenroar, QiQi, and Lightcharger variants.
Riot is upgrading the quality of TFT pass rewards with the Neon Nights Mid-Set update.
TFT patch 12.4 will be released on February 16th. We will keep you updated with all the latest changes on the PBE server (h/t Surrender@20) as they occur.
