Updated Volibear from League of Legends: Abilities, Skins, Release Date
Riot Games has revealed a full preview of all of Volibear's upcoming changes after League of Legends fans voted on its VGU rework along with Fiddlesticks in 2019.
The developers have announced that Volibear and Fiddlesticks will be the next champions in line for a remake following a public vote by fans in 2019.
Following a massive rework of Fiddlesticks that was released on April 1, Riot announced that Volibear (VGU Volibear) is also almost ready to be added to Summoner's Rift. They shared a full look at his updated abilities, character model, and skins in their reveal on May 8th.
As with VGU Fiddlesticks, Thunderous Demigod's update didn't deviate much from his original look, with the new character model more suited to the lore of a ferocious champion.
On May 8, Riot hosted a live stream showcasing all of Volibear's new features and updated character skins in action. You can find a summary of the full champion below.
While the stats for each ability are yet to be determined, the reworked set looks to be significantly more competitive than before. This includes a terrifying new Ultimate ability that sees Voliber jump towards its target, while also gaining additional health and disabling nearby towers.
Reworked Volibear abilities
- ♦Passive . Volibear's attacks and abilities grant attack speed and ultimately cause his main attacks to deal bonus magic damage to nearby enemies.
- ♦Q - Volibear gains speed towards enemies, stunning and damaging the first person it hits.
- ♦W - Volibear deals damage to the enemy by applying hit effects and marking them. Casting this spell again on the same target deals additional damage and heals Volibear.
- ♦E - Volibear summons lightning at a location, dealing damage and slowing enemies, granting Volibear a shield if he is within the blast radius.
- ♦R - Voliber jumps towards the target, slowing and damaging enemies below it while gaining additional health. Enemy towers near their landing site are temporarily disabled.
Riot also introduced a new passive for the champion that increases attack speed with basic attacks and abilities, causing his attacks to deal magic damage in the form of chain lightning to all nearby enemies.
With these new ability changes, along with others like the stun in his new set, it's likely that Volibear will be even more flexible than before, and could be viable in solo runs, in support, and as a jungler once tweaked.
