OBS Studio Gets Built-in Support for Nvidia Noise Canceling Technology

Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), the popular software for streamers, gets built-in support for Nvidia's superior noise reduction technology, as graphics card manufacturer announced today

Although previously it was possible to obtain the same effect, by combining OBS with Nvidia Broadcast software , you will now be able to set up the background noise removal feature directly from OBS. The feature is currently available with the OBS Studio 27 beta and will be released as a full version soon.

Nvidia noise removal technology has been around for a while, first as RTX Voice and then as one of the functions, embedded in Nvidia Broadcast . The AI-powered tool can neutralize everything from keyboard clicks to your PC's loud fans. It's a great addition to a streamer's arsenal, helping to filter out distracting background noise so viewers can focus on the streamer's game audio and commentary.

According to Nvidia's announcement, you need to download it Broadcast Audio Effects SDK, for this feature to work with the new OBS Studio 27 beta. You'll also need the company's latest game-ready driver. Once you've downloaded them, here's how Nvidia describes the installation process:

To use the new feature, open OBS, right-click an audio source in Audio Mixer, select Filters, click the "+" in the lower left corner of the new filter window, select the Noise Reduction filter, enter a name, click the new filter in the list , expand the Method drop-down list, select NVIDIA Noise Removal, adjust the intensity based on the amount of background noise, then close the Filters window. The NVIDIA noise removal feature is now active.

The new integration has arrived with the latest Nvidia driver for gaming, which also adds RTX update support. Mortal Shell, as well as six new G-Sync compatible displays.
