Chargers are rarely the kind of things that get excited, but they do happen from time to time!
Phones, tablets, Steam Decks, and laptops all need to be charged, and while there are many options that can charge multiple devices at the same time, new Kickstarter can just suggest a better option - with a charger Zeus by Charge ASAP world's smallest GaN (gallium nitrate) charger with 270W output. But should you support him?

Design and appearance
The Charge ASAP Zeus charger is a compact device that has a rounded, rectangular outer casing with ports on one end and space for the included AC adapter on the other. This may seem silly as if you've seen a charger before you'll know what to expect, but with all the ports on one end you might be wondering if there's a danger of overcrowding (many chargers like this offer ports on the side ). In our testing, though, it's perfect for keeping the cables out of the way of other cables and out of the way.
The charger is heavy and well made. While the Zeus Charger has a glossy finish right now, the Charge ASAP team has revealed that it will be upgraded to a matte finish during mass production following a poll of sponsors.
Charge ASAP also noted that the adapter will be easier to set up and switch for other options. If you're a MacBook user, white certainly also seems "Apple-friendly."
Performance
Once upon a time, the charger was designed to just, well, charge. With the advent of fast charging as well as power-hungry devices such as Steam deck, everything has become a little more complicated and demanding.
Luckily, the Zeus charger is more than ready. There are four ports on the back of the charger with two 100W USB-C ports, as well as a 140W option. There's even room for a 36W USB-A port on the other side.
Want to know how fast everything charges? Zeus offers a small OLED display that shows the output per port, up to 270W in total.
If you have one of the latest MacBook Pros or similar with fast charging, not only will you be able to charge it at full speed, you can charge three of them at the same time and still have room for an iPhone or Nintendo Switch.
Is it worth buying?
This is a bit like a game changer for portable charging and it will be interesting to see how the Charge ASAP team develops it over time. Regardless, this is one of the most fully featured and impressive chargers we've seen on the market.
Kickstarter is still actively rolling, so there is plenty of time to jump on board. At $119 for a single charger, it might not be the cheapest, but comparatively, putting together a bunch of chargers to do the same thing is actually more affordable than you might think - and worth a look.
