Among Us October Update Adds Anonymous Voting

patch

The October 'Among Us' update went live over the weekend, allowing players to vote anonymously, try out new Halloween cosmetics, and more.

patch

The surprise hit Innersloth first became playable in 2018, but 99% of the people playing now had no idea it existed until every streamer and their grandma started playing in 2020.

Compared to games like Overwatch or Call of Duty, the popular murder mystery and party game doesn't have a lot of different variables for developers to tweak and tweak.

At the same time, the October patch did include a fairly significant update by the standards of the game - the ability to cast your vote without knowing who everyone voted for.

Voting among us
Inner laziness
Before the update, Among Us was reported to everyone you voted for.

Players can now vote completely anonymously, which will definitely add an extra layer of espionage and paranoia to group discussions as you try to push the real impostor out of the gateway.

The anonymous option should appear alongside the familiar voting options on the same screen, so you can choose whether or not you want everyone to know you have a vendetta against Green, who has been acting weird lately.

The developers have also added new taskbar options that give players the option to turn it on at any time, only during meetings, or never if you so choose. This can help focus more on what others are doing rather than progressing on your task, but it can also be a little difficult for new players to get used to.

Among Us Halloween Hats

Finally, a big part of the update should be related to the new spooky hats added to the pre-game customization options for Halloween. For those who still don't know how to change hats or colors, just walk up and click on the laptop in the pre-game lobby and the cosmetic gallery should appear.
