The new Fortnite chapter 3 update will arrive today Sunday, December 5, 2021. Here is the v19.00 patch description, file size, and more.

Chapter 2 of Fortnite came to an end yesterday after the final event. The players helped defeat the Cube Queen with the help of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the Foundation. Since then we have been waiting for the servers to come back online.

At the time of writing, the servers are still down, but according to insiders and what's displayed in the API, it looks like the downtime will end at 18:00 UTC today, unless there are some last-minute issues.

While we still have a few hours before we can jump in and play, the new Fortnite update has already gone live. Here's everything you need to know, including file size, early patch notes, and more.

Fortnite Update Chapter 3

A few hours ago, the update went live on consoles, and most recently Chapter 3 v19.00 was ported to PC.

We usually see the announcement from the Twitter account, but since this is a new chapter, it doesn't make sense for Epics to announce it further.

As always, the file size will vary depending on which platform you are playing on. With all the new seasons, the patch you need to download will be a lot more than a regular mid-season patch.

Description of update 19.00 (Patch Notes)

Epic Games will likely release official notes on the Chapter 19.00 Fortnite v3 update that was released today. However, it is unlikely that they will publish it before the servers are active. We already have some information about what we can expect.

There is a new sliding mechanic that will allow players to move around the map faster (Ape[ Legends has a similar movement), and also use this feature in battles to gain the upper hand. We obviously also have new Battle Pass with new skins, including the Founder with an additional style that does not have a helmet and shows the face Dwayne Johnson, Spiderman and more.

We have vaults returning in 19 Season, as well as mythical items of superheroes. The first mythical item of the season is Spider-Man's web. We don't yet know how or where you can get them, but we will release a guide on the subject after the update is released.

There are several new weapons, including another pump-action shotgun and a new automatic shotgun. One of the shotguns is called the "Striker Pump Shotgun" and we have a new Ranger Assault Rifle for close and long range combat. We'll take a look at each new weapon in more detail shortly.
