Description of update 1.7 for Hunt: Showdown

Here is the official patch notes for Hunt: Showdown Update 1.7, which was released on Thursday November 18th.

Below you will find a description of update 1.7:

Reconnect function
Update 1.7 will add a new reconnect feature. Now players will be able to reconnect to Bounty Hunt matches if the connection to the server was previously lost or the game crashed. There are two ways the game will try to reconnect the player:

  • "Instant" reconnection (60 sec):
    • If you have lost connection to the server, but the game client is still running, we will try to restore your connection and return you to the game immediately.
  • Restoring the connection after a client crash or restart, crash to the main menu:
    • If the game client crashes or you restart the game while in a mission, a notification window will appear on the screen in which you can choose one of two options: reconnect to the match or abandon your hunter.
    • This screen will show the remaining duration of the match, as well as your current status and the status of your teammates:
      • Alive;
      • Unconscious (can be raised);
      • Dead (red skull, cannot be picked up);
      • Unconscious and on fire (it's worth hurrying - you might still save this hunter!).

Developer Note:

The reconnect feature was a very difficult task, especially since it was developed after the release of the game, but we are very pleased that we were still able to add it to the game, thus fulfilling one of the most frequent requests from our gaming community . We are sure that this feature will be in demand in the game and will allow you to save hunters after losing connection to the game.

Reconnection has been in development for a long time because we wanted to make it as reliable as possible before introducing this feature into the game. Do not forget that this is a new system, and at first certain roughness may occur. If you encounter any difficulties, please report it to our Community Managers or Support so that we can resolve these issues as soon as possible.

New weapon: Berthier Mle 92
The Berthier Mle 92 is a new carbine that takes up a large slot and uses large caliber rounds. Reloads with an ammo clip containing 3 rounds. The Berthier Carbine brings a new gameplay element to the large caliber rifles currently available in the game's arsenal. Initially, it was used by the rear echelons and cavalry of the French troops, as an alternative to the Lebel rifle (here's a fun historical fact for you!). The Berthier is a lightweight rifle with impressive stopping power that is great for a wide variety of situations on the battlefield.

Reload mechanism
The 3 round ammo clip cannot be reloaded with individual rounds, as is the case with some other weapons, either automatically or manually. When the last cartridge is chambered, the clip is automatically ejected from the bottom of the weapon (as is the case with the Bornheim). The clip can also be removed manually using the magazine release button located on the front of the trigger guard.

Manually reloading this carbine will require more effort than usual, so players will need to make a choice between firing their remaining rounds and quickly reloading the entire clip at once, or taking the extra time to manually retrieve an incomplete clip.

Reloading
When performing a partial reload, the player can lose up to 2 unused ammo if they start reloading the rifle at the wrong time after firing and do not have the Nimble Fingers skill. Thus, this skill will be even more useful in the case of Berthier. It is important to remember that due to the complex mechanism, partial recharge takes a longer amount of time. When using a full clip of three rounds, reloading will be much faster.

This mechanism also affects the reloading process during firing. Without the Fingers of Dexterity skill, the player will not be able to save a cartridge, similar to how it happens with other weapons in Hunt: Showdown. Players will need to be careful when reloading the Berthier Carbine, but if used sparingly, this weapon is fast and very effective.

Ammunition
Berthier will be the first carbine other than single-shot rifles to be able to use two types of ammunition at once. Its design allows for magazines that must be emptied before reloading, making it easy to switch between different ammo types.

Ammo types (custom)

  • Base ammo - 3/6 in slot
  • Pointed ammo - 3/6 in slot
  • Incendiary ammo - 3/6 in slot

Developer Note::

In the case of the Berthier, the choice of primary ammo type is even more important than with other weapons that can use two types of ammo. While with other weapons you get only one extra ammo, Berthier gives players 3 extra ammo for the main ammo type at once. Choose carefully what kind of ammunition you need more: spiky, incendiary or normal.

New skills
New Skill: Zeal

  • "When using Dark Vision, health and stamina regenerate twice as fast."
  • Works in conjunction with an anesthetic syringe
  • Does not affect delays before starting health regeneration.
  • Available from Rank 38
  • Cost: 4 Skill Upgrade Points

New Skill: Magpie

  • "When picking up a Bounty, the Hunter briefly gains a random effect of using an Antidote, Stimulant, or Painkiller syringe."
  • The duration of the effect received is 150 seconds.
  • Available from Rank 1
  • Cost: 1 Skill Upgrade Point

New Skill: Smell of Poison

  • "Allows Darkvision to see nearby poisoned Hunters."
  • Also works with partners
  • Available from Rank 84
  • Cost: 1 Skill Upgrade Point
  • Range: 50 m

Ready kits
Update 1.7 will add another feature that our gaming community has been asking for for a long time - ready-made sets of equipment. Players will now be able to create custom gear sets that can be quickly applied to a new hunter and immediately taken to the swamps.

  • Ready-made equipment sets will be available on the Recruit Hunters screen (you will find the "Custom" button above your weapon on the equipment screen).
  • A new window will be added where you can see your finished equipment sets.
  • Each player gets 3 slots for equipment sets.
  • In total, it will be possible to unlock up to 10 of these slots.
    • Additional slots can be purchased with Blood Bonds.
  • Ready kits will be available to all players who have completed the preparation mode (reached Rank 11 on the Legacy track).
  • Each slot can be given an individual name to better distinguish them.
  • Quick Access Options Available: Selecting a piece of equipment while the Presets menu is open will take you directly to the appropriate section for that item and allow you to quickly change it.
  • By clicking on the area of ​​the kit menu, it will be closed (this can be done not only using the "Close" button).
  • If at the time of creating the kit you do not have one of the items of equipment, it will be purchased automatically.
    • Items will be bought automatically only if all the conditions for their purchase are met (rank, money, number of skill points, etc.)

Developer Note:

The team really wanted to make this feature as useful and convenient as possible, and not just nominal. We put a lot of effort into its creation, trying to embody in it what players can expect from such mechanics. Therefore, we have added settings that will allow players to have the best possible control over their equipment.

With these settings, you can create not only complete sets of equipment, but also those that consist only of consumables or only tools, as well as prioritize the use of contraband items to save hunting dollars. This level of detail will allow you to create kits more efficiently, as well as save time for the hunter to equip before each mission. We're really excited about how we've managed to bring this feature to life, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Artificial Intelligence

  • Fixed a lot of issues related to the behavior of the Butcher. Below are the main ones:
    • Now the Butcher will correctly attack the target that he sees first.
    • Fixed some movement issues that could occur after making a melee attack.
    • Fixed a rare issue that caused the Butcher to attack more aggressively than intended.
    • Fixed a bug due to which the Butcher could be lured out of the lair, but he would get stuck in the door.
    • Improved Butcher behavior that prevents players from using exploits at boss lair entrances.
    • Fixed other issues that could cause The Butcher to misperceive players.
    • Fixed a bug due to which the already dead Butcher could still make characteristic sounds, reacting to the actions of the players.
  • We've also made some changes to the Butcher's behavior:
    • Improved the Butcher's aiming when players are partially blocked from him by a barrier.
    • Made improvements to the Butcher's melee attacks to reduce texture creep when the boss attacks near a wall.
    • Now the Butcher's hook will not re-ignite after it has already been extinguished once.
    • Part of the Butcher's cross and pig snout will now break when the boss enters a frenzy state. This change will now display the damage dealt to the boss, much like it does with Scrapbeak.

Sound
In this update, we've done a mix of melee sounds, as well as a general improvement in sound support. The changes are described in more detail below in the Developer Notes section.

Developer Notes:

As part of the development of Hunt, we made some improvements to the sound of melee items. In this patch, we've adjusted the previous melee sounds to better represent the amount of damage dealt by each weapon.

Also, for some types of melee weapons, the sounds have been replaced with more appropriate ones. Unique hit sounds have been added for slashing with a knife, stabbing with a pitchfork, and heavy attacking with an explosive spear.

All these changes will allow players to better understand which weapon was used when making a hit, based on sound alone. And, of course, all kinds of cutting, stabbing and deaf blows will bring much more satisfaction.

Weapon

  • Improved all modifications of short rifles:
    • Slightly reduced damage and range for basic and long weapons.
  • Increased poison damage against Armored and Barbed Armored by Hand Crossbow.
  • Reduced the duration of the Weak Antidote Syringe from 1800 to 600 seconds.
  • Reduced the duration of the antidote syringe from 3600 to 1200 seconds.

Hunters

  • Turning the Boss will now also remove the poison effect from all hunters on your team.
  • Reworked the Vigilant skill.
    • "The ability Darkvision allows you to see the set bear traps in a small radius." (without changes)
    • Significantly improved the visibility and readability of visual effects in Darkvision.
    • It is now possible to distinguish different types of traps (the closer to the target, the better visibility).
    • Range increased from 5m to 25m.
  • Skill Reworked: Keen Eye
    • "Crossbow bolts, arrows, throwing axes, and throwing knives are highlighted when using Darkvision." (without changes)
    • Significantly improved the visibility and readability of visual effects in Darkvision.
    • Range reduced from 30m to 25m.

Menu

  • Added a unique weapon equip animation for Class I Hunters in the Lobby and Recruitment Menu.

Meta
Reconnect function
As mentioned above, the reconnect feature will be released in this update. Previously, disconnecting from the game server for any reason meant certain death for the hunter (except during the training phase). Now you can return back to the swamps and continue hunting from the same place where you disappeared. We share with you the main details regarding this function:

  • If there is a loss of connection with the server, your hunter will remain in place, and will also automatically crouch to draw as little attention to himself as possible. (this option does not work if the hunter is unconscious or dead).
  • Your teammates will receive a notification that you have been disconnected from the server. That way they can try to protect you until you reload into the mission.
  • If you decide to leave the mission (using the "Abandon" button in the pause menu in the game) or refuse the option to reconnect in the tooltip that appears, your hunter will be lost and your teammates will receive a notification.
  • After losing connection with the server, you will have 10 minutes to try to return to the current mission. If you do not return to the mission within the allotted time, the game will assume that you abandoned the mission, and your hunter will die.
  • For each loss of communication with the server, the 10-minute timer will be reset. Thus, if you lose connection with the server several times in one mission, each time you will have 10 minutes to return to it.
  • The loss of communication with the server does not affect the total amount of time allotted for the task. If you lose connection, the mission will still continue, and the mission timer will count down as usual. For example, if you lose connection 3 minutes before the end of the mission, you will not be credited with extra evacuation time.
    • This decision was made to prevent players from using this mechanic to gain any advantage in the game.
  • If you lost connection to the server, but the game client didn't crash, or the game didn't take you back to the menu, we'll try to reconnect you to that match within the first 60 seconds. If after this time we were unable to reconnect, the game will take you back to the main menu, where you can reconnect using the appropriate prompt.
  • Currently, the reconnect feature is only available for the Bounty Hunt mode. Quickplay is much faster, and the stakes are not as high as Bounty Hunt, so the chances of reconnecting and finding your hunter still alive (or having time to activate the source) are quite small.

Developer Note:

We are very happy that we were finally able to add this feature to the game and offer you a way to return to the match. Since the game went into Early Access in 2018, this feature has been one of the most popular requests among our gaming community.

We wanted to make sure that when you exit the game, you can return and complete the mission as if you never left it, but since this is a very significant addition to the game, there may still be rare cases that were not taken into account during the internal testing phase. If you notice any problems with this feature, please report it to us and describe in detail what exactly went wrong so that we can reproduce the conditions under which the error occurs and fix it. Please remember that the details of the incident are very important in order to find and fix the error as soon as possible.

Skill Unlock Order Changes

  • The Barkskin skill is now available from Rank 1 instead of 2.
  • The Salamander skill is now available from Rank 1 instead of 15.
  • Thick Blood is now available from Rank 1 instead of 37.
  • Mithridatism is now available from Rank 15 instead of 53.
  • The Quiet skill is now available from Rank 38 instead of 53.

Recruit Changes

  • Reworked gear for Free Hunters to add more variety.
  • Players will now have a chance to receive two Grade III recruits with each update of the recruit list, starting from Rank 79 to 100 of the Legacy bar.
  • Legendary Hunters can now be hired for $200 (up from $333).

Accolade rewards

  • Rebalanced some achievement card rewards at the end of a mission to put more emphasis on PvP interactions instead of core gameplay.

Shop

  • Added the Berthier Carbine, available from rank 62. Price: $356.
  • Added Berthier carbine (incendiary ammunition). The cost is $35.
  • Added Berthier carbine (pointed ammo). The cost is $220.
  • Improved the description of some weapon characteristics to more accurately reflect its behavior in the game (this only applies to the description, the mechanics themselves remain the same).
  • Cavalry Saber is now available from Rank 42 instead of 62.
  • Poison category changes:
    • Weak Antidote Syringe now opens at rank 2 instead of 48.
    • The item unlock order in the Poison category has been changed: Weak Antidote Syringe and Poison Grenade have been swapped in unlock order.
  • Reduced cost of Weak Antidote Syringe from $50 to $30.
  • Reduced the cost of the Antidote Syringe from $80 to $55.
  • Reduced cost of fake wicks from $60 to $30.
  • Throwing ax cost reduced from $60 to $30.
  • Reduced the cost of signal traps from $60 to $30.
  • Reduced cost of Mini Poison Traps from $60 to $30.

New legendary weapons

  • Legendary Lebel 1886 "Swan Song". The cost is 700 KO.
    • “The haze of this Lebel 1886 rifle smells of doom, and the call of death is heard in the roar of its shot. It was not for nothing that they called it the Swan Song: it heralds the imminent end of the life path of the one caught in the sight.  
  • Legendary Springfield 1866 Compact "Dry Spring". The cost is 500 KO.
    • “In the land where the spring has dried up, the grass turns yellow, the nests empty and the petals fly around. Rebirth goes hand in hand with death, and this compact Springfield 1866 rifle is the guarantee that the circle of life and death will be closed.”
  • The legendary Mosin-Nagant "Cutoff" with a drum magazine "Ssohshiy". The cost is 600 KO.
    • “This Mosin-Nagant M1891 with a drum magazine has become a symbol of the hungry and the destitute. The whitish paint covering it reminds of the rule: “The prey goes to the most eager for it.”
  • The legendary Martini-Henry IC1 "Siren's Song". The cost is 600 KO.
    • “Those who came to the call of this Martini-Henry IC1 rifle realize too late that its funeral bell tolled for them. In this song of the siren, only weeping for those who perished because of their own stupidity is heard. 

User interface
Leaderboards

  • Changes have been made to the Leaderboard to remove the number of inactive players.
  • This change will not take effect until the 1.7 update is released on the live servers (the leaderboard on the test server is not updated in the same way).

Developer Note:

Due to these changes, for some time after the release of the update, the leaderboard may appear to show fewer players or may be completely empty. The table has not been reset, but due to new changes, it may take some time to update with up-to-date information.

Menu changes

  • All standard (non-legendary) weapons and items have been moved from the Store to a new menu tab called "Arsenal".

Developer Note: In a previous update, we mentioned that those changes to the store will be the first steps towards improving it. This change is another step in that direction. Core in-game items have their own place, while store items (Blood Bonds, Legendary skins, and add-ons) will now be placed in their own section. We hope these changes will make the menu easier to understand, especially for new players. We have many more store ideas for the future, but we will also be listening to feedback from the gaming community for further improvements.

  • A new page has been added to the store called "Favorites", which will display new hunters, the latest discounts, and more.
  • Improved in-game news section.
  • The leaderboard has been moved to the Progress menu as a tab.

Visual updates

  • Made visual improvements to items and skills that are unlocked by earning ranks.
  • Visual improvements to the statistics screen have been made.
  • Made visual improvements to the last match screen.
  • Visual improvements have been made to the hunter's equipment selection icons in Quick Play.
  • Made visual improvements to the buttons in the hunter recruitment menu.
  • Made visual improvements to item slots. Added new background images.
  • Made visual improvements to legendary items in the store. Improved display of the status of open or locked items.
  • Items in the arsenal have been visually improved. Improved display of the status of open or locked items.

Other

  • New Feature: A gamma adjustment option has been added to the settings menu. This option will be displayed when you first start the game (for beginners), but later it can also be found in the settings menu.
  • Scrolling through menus should now be smoother, with no twitching.
  • Cleaning weapons will now be accompanied by a characteristic sound.
  • Reworked icons for rank and currencies.
  • The game map will now display the skull in the correct color for a dead teammate (white or red)
  • Minor changes to text descriptions when hiring legendary hunters.

Level changes
Stillwater Marshes:
Global changes:

  • Reworked islands between Blanchett Cemetery and Verview Lockbay. Added additional items on small islands. Changes have been made to the shallow parts of the swamps between the islands so that they will no longer slow down players if they move along the paths.
  • Added a few buildings between the Black Madonna Chapel and the Dead Lake to give players more options to approach the Lake from the south.
  • Holes on the sides of "industrial" window shutters are closed.

Blanchett Cemetery

  • Barricaded some large and small windows in the Church in the "Cemetery".

Shipyard Lockbay:

  • On the top floor, the two large windows on the north side have been replaced with one window with shutters and two small windows on the sides. Previously, the three large windows were not often used, but with these changes, the location will have a new option for defense.
  • Added a second west-facing window on the second floor of the boss lair.
  • Expanded the roof area, allowing players to enter the building from the top floor using the shuttered window on the north side or the glass window on the west side.
  • Added several holes in the walls through which players can defend the first floor from attacks from the east.
  • Added an elevating platform connecting the basement and the main part of the building.
  • Basement wooden floors have been replaced with earth and concrete flooring to better distinguish between footsteps in the basement and on the first floor.

Destroyed crematorium:
Inner part:

  • Added a barricade in the long corridor on the inside to block line of sight and force defenders to get closer if they want to keep an eye on the tunnel entrance.
  • Added a new boss lair entrance near the tunnel entrance.
  • Increased the elevator room to create more space for different types of weapons.
  • Redesigned north entrance from the water side. The previously barricaded window has been replaced with a full door, thus creating a second point of entry into the building.
  • Removed the small staircase that was previously used to enter from the north. Now for both entrances from the water side, you can simply jump inside, and to exit the location, it will be enough just to go up to one of the doors.
  • The walls from the elevator room to the boss lair have been increased in length to provide more cover for attackers.
  • A long corridor is cut off from the main entrance and the entrance to the tunnel.
  • The long corridor has been moved through one room to add more variety to both entrances that lead to different rooms.
  • Removed some items from the basement to reduce clutter and improve shooting conditions.

Outer part:

  • Increased the volume of the ruins in the eastern part of the location, closer to the forest between the Crematorium and the Healing Waters.
  • Reduced the amount of vegetation on top of Ruined Crematorium.
  • Added a great sniper spot above the Ruined Crematorium.
  • Extended pier on the server side of the location from the water side (increased space for movement).
  • Added more natural cover on the approaches to the location from the west side.
  • Replaced the single person elevator with an elevating platform that will allow more players to enter or exit the location at the same time.

Cypress Grove:

  • Reworked the approach from the southern ramp at the Cypress Grove location. Hunters will now need to travel a shorter distance across the water to reach the ramp. Added more cover on the way to the ramp, but the passage is still quite risky.

Port Riker:

  • Added a ladder entrance to the west side of Port Riker for faster but more risky entry.

Church "Healing Waters":

  • Added a new staircase inside the Church building that leads to the crypt below it.

dead lake

  • Added more land elements to the location to improve movement around it.
  • Reduced the total amount of vegetation, available plants are now more grouped.
  • Added a wall around the perimeter of the location.
  • Added new wooden deck paths leading to the location from Port Ricoeur and Black Madonna Chapel.
  • Removed some small shuttered windows from boss lair.
  • Some of the other small shuttered windows in the boss building have been relocated for better access.
  • Added new openings and more cover inside the boss lair.
  • Added a new shed that can be entered in the southern part of the location.
  • Updated the hunting tower located between "Port Riker" and "Dead Lake".

catfish grove

  • Added more land elements to the location to improve movement around it.
  • Added new approaches to the location from the east side.
  • Added a new hunting tower and more cover on the east side.
  • Added a new bridge and hut on the west side.
  • Added more cover around the boss lair.
  • Added a new ladder inside the boss's lair that can be used to climb up to the roof.
  • Added a new window and stairs to the north side of the boss lair.
  • The vegetation in the northern part of the boss's lair has been reworked.
  • Added a new "remote action" vent inside the hut on the east side of the area that opens the metal gate in the boss's lair.
  • Added a new isthmus between the log pillar and the boss's lair in the southern part of the location.

Rancho Davanta

  • The chicken cage has been moved further away from the white house in the eastern part of the location. A small fence has also been added around it.

Boss lair:

  • The small windows are slightly raised: thus, when protecting the building, they can be effectively used in the direction of the Ruined Crematorium and the Church of Healing Waters.
  • Added two small windows that face Cypress Grove to the west and Slaughterhouse to the east.
  • Added two small windows on the lower floor facing Cypress Grove to the west to protect the building.

Reynard's sawmill

  • Added a gap in the large log wall in the northeast part of the area, allowing you to take cover faster while on the offensive.

Delta Lawson
Global changes

  • Holes on the sides of "industrial" window shutters are closed.

Delta Lawson

  • All static (non-destructible) lamps have been replaced with regular lamps that can be turned on or off, or destroyed.
  • Added some cover outside the waiting room to protect the building.

Bradley and Craven Brickworks

  • Added a staircase outside the location that leads to the roof of the east side of the brick factory building.
  • Added a staircase inside the location that leads to the roof of the western side of the brick factory building.
  • Both of these rooftops were previously available to players, but climbing them wasn't easy.

Fort Carmick:

  • Added ruins in the forest east of Fort Carmick.
  • Changes have been made to the north building of Fort Carmick, as well as the transition between the two main buildings. Thus, it is now impossible to get to the second floor of the northern building from the outside.

Nicholls Prison:

  • Opened the forest in the northwestern part of Nicholls Jail to give hunters more room to maneuver between the trees.

Windy space:
Reworked the east and south approaches to Windy Reach to provide more opportunities to attack the location. The main building has also been upgraded with several additional defense options.
Removed the stand-alone white hut east of the Windy Expanse. Instead, two abandoned stables and an additional wall in the eastern part of the location have been added.
Added a new staircase and vertical red gates in the southern part of the location.

Bloody Maw Garrison:

  • Added a watchtower over the underground bunker in the western part of Bloodmaw Garrison.
