Description of Fortnite Update V11.01
Epic Games has announced the next Fortnite update, v11. 01, as well as the time and date of the patch.
Epic Games launched Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 1 on Tuesday, October 15, more than 40 hours after the Season 10 live event.
The developers have announced the first update for Chapter 2. The next update has been given the number v11.01 and will come into force today, October 22. The tweet states that there will be new content for Fortnite Save the World and addresses some known issues with the game.
As usual, server downtime is expected for this update, which will start at 11am ET. One of the known gaming issues that will likely be fixed in the v11.01 update is performance issues, specifically FPS issues that players are experiencing. There are things you can use in your settings to increase FPS, including turning the sound to low and turning off 3d sound. However, some players have stated that this does not solve the problem.
We could also see changes to the way XP is earned as the new progression system came under scrutiny. Epic has stated that this season has "less kills, more fun", however players are leveling up much more slowly than in previous seasons.
There is also a possibility that Epic will introduce a new item in an update. With more weapons and items vaulted at the start of the season, all of which are listed here, it doesn't seem far-fetched Epic will start adding new weapons and items. Until the end of Season 10, Epic did not add any new items or weapons for three weeks, likely due to the fact that they were going to keep most of the weapons and items for the new chapter.
The news feed may be updated this afternoon after Fortnite merchandise store will reboot to announce the new item. As always, we'll keep you up to date with the latest Fortnite news. We will also be posting patch notes for v11. 01 upon their release along with any leaks arising from the update.
