Description of Fortnite Update v12.10

The first major update since the launch of Season 2 Fortnite Chapter 2 is available from Tuesday, March 3rd. Update 12.10 has affected both PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

After the longest season in Fortnite history, the introduction of Season XNUMX has breathed new life into the popular Battle Royale, and after complaining that the developers didn't release enough patches, it looks like Epic Games took the criticism to heart, releasing the second significant patch in less than two weeks.

Now the developers have released a new update that includes new weapons and some bug fixes to help improve the quality of the gameplay.

Mine

The main addition to update v12.10 are Proximity Mines, which first appeared in the Battle Pass trailer for February 20 for Fortnite Season 2. As expected, these are throwable items that are placed on the ground and activate when an enemy player gets too close to it.

They then fly into the air and explode, dealing damage to the enemy and letting you know that someone was trying to approach you from that direction, making them ideal for camping in a building and closing entry points, as opponents will be wary of getting too close, they deal 50 damage. Players hit by this weapon will also be tagged, meaning you will be able to see them through walls after the mines explode.

Error correction

As always, Epic Games has been hard at work fixing some glaring issues that have been affecting the game in recent weeks as the developers updated their official Trello to show what glitches were fixed in the v12.10 update.

For those hoping for a massive improvement in game performance, there's bad news as the map with mentions of FPS loss and frame rate remains "in development", but we may see Epic release a surprise patch once it's finished. Just like they did for PS4 on February 26th. You can view the full list of bug fixes below.

  • ➤ Earn XP from XP coins not appearing in the XP bar.
  • ➤It is not possible to close a map with map input if it is linked to an upward pad.
  • Teammate's arrows flicker/disappear temporarily in Team Rumble.
  • Weak hit points do not register when very close to them.
  • Splitscreen: Player 1 interrupts Player 2's trigger button.
  • The Flair style in Y0ND3R is not properly locked.
  • The Big Haul Glider variant may not unlock.
  • ➤(Creative) The class selector will not work if the volume is not visible.

What's new?

Thousands of objects
Ready-made elements and the objects they consist of are now always at hand! Double click on a prefabricated element or set to access thousands of objects. Objects can be used individually, placed on an island, and even added to the hotbar.

Easter eggs
Colorful and whimsical, these new eggs can be used as props or collectibles!

  • Fixed a bug due to which players became invisible when falling into the water while moving crouched in a cardboard box.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Stealthy Snowman and Cardboard Box to display incorrectly when added to the Quick Access Toolbar.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the cardboard box to display incorrectly for players who joined a game that had already started.

CREATIVITY TOOLS AND PHONE

Corrected mistakes

  • ➤Fixed an issue that caused issues when trying to take pictures in Island Checkout mode.
  • ➤Fixed an issue on mobile devices where "Paste" was missing when selecting multiple items using the phone.

KITS AND FINISHED ITEMS

Authors no longer need to submit an entire set for a single item, as we've added the ability to view individual items from sets and prefabs and add them to the Quick Access Toolbar!

  • ➤Added 1 new set:
    • Egg set
  • Added 6 different eggs to the pickup set.
  • More colors have been added to the Variant Vehicle Pack A and Variant Vehicle Bundle B.
  • Added more walls, floors and various rocks to the set of indestructible objects.
  • Added green furniture to the yacht object set.

Corrected mistakes

  • Fixed a bug in the Towers of the Future factory where there was an extra roof frame that needed to be removed.
  • Removed the carbon copy cannon feature for the medium straight cave from the Shark Cliffs set, as it was causing display issues.
  • Fixed a bug due to which yellow mushrooms became invisible on mobile devices or when using the low graphics quality setting.
  • Fixed an issue where the billboard from Street Pack A could only be placed on the grid.
  • There is a bug where using a façade window removes the adjacent wall, so we've added that object to the Art Deco building layout set.
  • Fixed an issue in the power plant's engine room that caused the workbench to stick through a wall.
  • Fixed a bug in the ice cream parlour, which caused several trash cans to stick through the wall.

  • Fixed a bug in the Shark sets, due to which the wrong resources were obtained from some objects.
  • Fixed an issue in the Giant Hypermarket that caused stairs to have the wrong texture.

  • Fixed a bug in the Miscellaneous Gems Pack that caused all gems to have a purple base.
  • All new data in version 12.00 is now labeled "Top Secret" instead of "Spyware".
  • Fixed a bug due to which the yellow mushrooms from the prefabricated elements of the prison became invisible when choosing low graphics settings.
  • Some collision adjustments have been made to the lighthouse balconies, so authors may need to adjust the position of previously placed balconies.

  • Fixed a transfer error that occurred when the player left the modifier zone due to dying while falling inside the zone.

  • Fixed a bug due to which the death due to falling inside the modifier zone was not regarded on the score control panel as leaving the zone.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from setting item spawners to activate for 3 seconds.
  • Fixed a bug due to which class creation devices did not show the items placed in them in preview mode.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Capture Area device to remain visible in game even though the In-Game Item Show option was turned off.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Loop Controllers to infinitely activate if the Area Position and Pulse Direction were set to any value other than the default.
  • Fixed an issue where Explosive Barrels that were activated to explode during the setup phases would only return to their original position after the first game was completed.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to pass through Barrier Devices of the Empty Box type.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to hover over Player Spawn devices even though they were being made invisible in-game.
  • Fixed some issues that caused devices to not display properly during creative mode replays after the player used rewind.
  • Fixed a bug due to which, when using the teleport setting "Teleport when receiving a signal from", the effects of the modifier zone were preserved on the player, even if he teleported outside of it.

INTERFACE AND COMMUNICATION

  • Fixed an issue where the number of active players displayed below the minimap was sometimes incorrect.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to hear no sound effects when using items from the creative inventory.
  • Fixed an issue where using the teleport button did not close all menus of the channel selection interface.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing the back button in the My Islands menu would close the entire UI screen.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing the directional buttons when selecting options on mobile devices was difficult.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the image on the minimap was sometimes zoomed in.
