Description of CoD Open Beta Update: Black Ops Cold War
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta is now open to all players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and as part of that, Treyarch has released a fresh set of patch notes detailing all of the latest changes and additions.
Finally, after PS4 players have enjoyed an entire Black Ops Cold War beta weekend, those with Xbox One and PC who haven't pre-ordered the game can now also try out the upcoming game's testing period.
In addition to being completely open to everyone, Treyarch has also made a few more changes and added new content, including an increased level cap, the addition of Control, and other gameplay updates, bug fixes, and stability improvements.
Increased level cap + new weapons, perks and more
As previously announced, the maximum level that players can reach during the beta has been increased from 31 to 40. This means there is now a lot more content available for users to unlock for their downloads, including more weapons, perks , streaks points, wildcards. equipment and field updates.
In terms of weapons, the new ones that are now selectable include the RPD light machine gun, the RPG-7 grenade launcher, the Magnum pistol, and more. Also now available are the Quartermaster and Ninja perks, as well as the Air Patrol and Chopper Shooter scoring ranks.
Rounding out this latest wave are new unlockables: Perk Greed Wilcard, Decoy Grenade, Semtex, and the Jammer Field upgrade.
Control
Control is a popular 6v6 game mode that originally debuted in Treyarch's Black Ops 4 and has now been added to the BOCW Beta Quick Play selection menu for the rest of the weekend.
In Control, there are two targets on the map and teams are assigned to capture or defend them, and there is also the option to simply wipe out the remaining lives of the enemy side.

CONTROL (6v6)
Control joins the Quick Play selection of 6v6 modes today in Crossplay's open beta. We're excited to bring back the fan-favorite Black Ops 4, where opposing teams fight to capture or defend two objectives on the map, or wipe out the other team before their lives run out.
Each team of up to six players has 30 lives shared between the team, introducing a new level of strategy for both attacking and defending teams. Jump into Control this weekend in Kartel, Miami and Moscow and let us know what you think.
