Here's everything you need to know about the New World Open Beta, one of the most anticipated games of the year!
During the Closed Beta, the developers experienced both server issues and overcrowding, resulting in longer queue times, depriving some players of the danger and beauty of Aeternum. So that everyone can experience the New World before the launch on September 28, the studio has announced an open beta test. The Open Beta will use the new Steam Playtest feature, which allows all interested players in the game's supported regions to request access to the test for free. Servers will be available in North America, Europe, Australia and South America.
The Open Beta begins on September 9 at 7:00 AM PST (14:00 PM UTC) and runs through September 12 at 23:59 PT (6:59 AM BST). Interested players will be able to request access starting September 8 at 7:00 AM PT (14:00 PM UTC).

WHAT LANGUAGES IS THE OPEN BETA AVAILABLE IN?
The Open Beta will be available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain and LATAM), Polish and Brazilian Portuguese.
CAN I DISCUSS / POST / CREATE CONTENT ABOUT / OR STREAM THE OPEN BETA?
Yes, during the open beta test, you are allowed to share, record, or stream beta content or gameplay. However, aspects of New World may change between open beta and launch, which could result in footage being captured to be outdated. Check out our content use policy, to learn more.
DOES THE CAPACITY OF THE OPEN BETA SERVER INDICATE THE CAPACITY OF THE LAUNCH SERVER?
The Open Beta is an important test for our server infrastructure and will have a higher server capacity than the Closed Beta, but will not reflect the full server capacity available at launch. During the Open Beta, players may experience queue times.
WILL MY OPEN BETA PROGRESS BE POSTPONED TO LAUNCH?
No, progress will be erased between open beta and launch.
WHAT HAS CHANGED IN NEW WORLD BETWEEN CLOSED AND OPEN BETA?

Yes, you will need to request access to the Open Beta Client through the Steam Playtest tool at New World Steam page.
TECHNICAL TEST
If you participated in the New World Alpha test, please pay attention to your email! In the run-up to the open beta, we will be conducting closed technical tests. These tests are NDA confidential and may not be recorded, broadcast, or published. Previous alpha testers may receive an invitation to participate in these tests using the email address they used to register for the New World alpha test. Details of these tests will be communicated by email.
