Overwatch Announces New Balance Update Designed By Streamers And Pros
Overwatch has announced that the huge Experimental Future Mode will be entirely developed by streamers and professionals bringing their own unique balance changes to the game.
The announcement was first made by the Overwatch League, which revealed that in March, a group of "experts" will determine the rules for a community tournament scheduled for March 27-28, which will play out an experimental card.
Since being added to the game, Overwatch's experimental mode has been used to showcase a future balance update over the PTR, but it also featured a few additional modes such as one tank per team or an updated version of 2CP.
Jon Spector, VP of Overwatch esports, took to Reddit to explain in more detail what this new mode and tournament will entail.
"Just to clarify, I've already seen a bunch of questions here - we're going to have a few pros and streamers decide what balance changes they want to make to the experimental map and run this tournament with those settings." сказал he. .
Initially, some players on the site suspected that this might be a sign that some important new changes were on the way and Experimental Mode would be used to showcase them, although that doesn't seem to be the case.
As for whether any changes are actually made to the live game after Experimental Mode, Jon Spector doesn't rule it out, but it does seem like a pipe dream.

"Assuming they decide to have Genji deal triple damage and double Zenyatta's HP, that seems unlikely," he commented.
Some streamers have already begun throwing their name into the ring for helping develop the experimental mode.
Florida Mayhem content creator Samito asked where to "submit your resume" for the event.
Another Overwatch streamer, SVB, was delighted that another community tournament was taking place and hoped the changes were indeed legal and not just "shit memes".
We'll have to see what crazy buffs and nerfs streamers and pros come up with and how seriously they take this opportunity to either improve the game or make it even cooler.
