More Launchers Expected

We have done a lot of work and gathered information about what we can expect from the gaming industry in 2020. Things should be pretty exciting with the arrival of the next generation of consoles, great new video games and maybe VR 2.0!

Steam, uPlay, Origin, GOG Galaxy, Epic Games Launcher, Rockstar Games Launcher, Bethesda Launcher, Blizzard's Battle.net app, Windows Store. I think these are all the launchers we'll find on PC. At least the most important ones. Every major manufacturer wants to have their own application and store to sell games, so we are slowly returning to those days before Steam, when games were not stored in the library of one program, but each led to a separate icon on the desktop.

It's only a matter of time before one of these launchers comes out, we lose all the libraries it contains and a big scandal breaks out, causing players to lose trust in other small stores as well. Then everything will again be consolidated in the hands of three, maybe four large companies. However, I doubt this will happen next year. For now, we're expecting more of a reverse trend, with other apps launching store-linked games from downstream publishers who would rather keep all the profits from their games rather than pay commissions to others. Capcom doesn't have its own launcher yet. And Bandai Namko doesn't have anything like that. Warner Bros., Square Enix, Focus Home Interactive, Gearbox, Sega, THQ, Paradox Interactive... Oh yeah, Paradox is already trying to do it. If you think there is no one else to go “their way”, then I have bad news.…
