Path of Exile Will Change the End Game
If you thought the game's last nerf was the end of Path of Exile's changes, then you miscalculated a bit.
Grinding Gear Games intend to continue to shuffle the meta of their game and change the things they think don't work so well as they would like.
In version 3.17 (expansion planned for January 2022), Path of Exile will change its ending, but even earlier (in 3.16 - premiere in October) there will be some improvements in the current work of the Atlas. The changes will supposedly be agreed with the fans of the game, so there should not be such "mess" and drama as with the last nerf.
Our January 3.17 update includes a complete overhaul of the Atlas of Worlds and Path of Exile end game mechanics. We're taking player feedback into account when designing our new Atlas systems and for the ultimate end-game boss fights.
In the meantime, we understand that players feel that it takes too long to unlock the current Atlas and discussed what quick changes we could make to improve the gameplay in 3.16.
In 3/6 we plan to reduce the Atlas to four regions instead of eight. This means that players need to defeat 16 conquerors instead of 32. It will take 100 cards to complete instead of 160. In the future, we will be shuffling card layouts in the Atlas between expansions in the same way we change Zana mods. We will keep in mind that each expansion should contain many different card layouts (including the most popular among gamers). Various changes will be made to the Atlas bonuses to ensure you continue to receive the correct total number of awakening levels and the overall bonus for completing the Atlas.
