First News From The Developers Of System Shock 3 After A Series Of Layoffs
One of the employees of OtherSide Entertainment (the studio responsible for the third part of System Shock), Walter Somolon, posted an entry on the company's message board. Thanks to his post, we learned that the company is still alive, but no new information about the aforementioned game has been released.
After the latest layoff news at OtherSide Entertainment (the company behind the third release of System Shock ), which came out in early February this year, we still haven't received any new information about the game. The silence of the studio lasted a good few months, and only now it was interrupted by Walter Somol, vice president of marketing and business development. Thanks to him statement on the forum, we know that the studio is still functioning, although about the System Shock 3 not a word was said. Walter was involved in another title - " Underworld" — and he probably mentions it.
“We are still here. We are all working remotely right now, probably like most of you. Our new concept is going well and we are really excited about it. We're all cool and we think we have our own distinctive style for art and it's pissing us off, but I just can't say anything about it at the moment."
As you can see, we still cannot be sure that System Shock 3 still has a chance of being fulfilled. We can only hope that the studio can deal with the current issues and update us soon on the status of work (or lack thereof) on the next set of iconic series. It's worth noting that the 1994 remake of the original System Shock is not at risk. A completely different studio is working on it - Nightdive Studios.
