First Look at Tarkcraft - Escape from Tarkov Mod for Minecraft

Minecraft is known for allowing creative players to create crossovers with other video games, such as the incredible Escape From Tarkov mod faithfully recreated in the title from Mojang.

Minecraft provides players with a near-infinite replay level across many modes. Much of Minecraft's popularity also stems from the creative side of the game, where players can create anything they can think of, limited only by their ingenuity.

Naturally, the building mechanics of Minecraft led to an impressive number of crossovers with other video games , the latest being Escape from Tarkov, as revealed by professional baseball player and content creator Trevor May.

May teased players with his own Minecraft-made Escape from Tarkov mod, which he affectionately calls "Tarkcraft."

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, May revealed that he and fellow creator Kuvington plan to create an ambitious (and faithful) recreation of Battlestate Games' hardcore survival sim using the tools provided by Mojang's open-world sandbox.

"We're trying to put Escape from Tarkov into Minecraft [and] make it playable," he stated, confirming that many of EFT's signature features (such as stash, weapon mods, and limb damage mechanics) will also be in the mod.

Mei already has a wealth of content supporting these lofty goals, including the early stages of the aforementioned mechanic, the PMC and Scav mode select console, and some of the real world maps that the game's intense raiding will take place on.

As the most interested fans would expect, a plethora of weapons, ammo and attachments are already included in the game, as well as the game's signature sound system, which seasoned Tarkov players know is critical to its addictive gameplay.

The pair also confirmed that the mod will include a massive open world-style map with several different areas divided for raids and PMC/Scav runs - a very similar setup to how Escape from Tarkov handles the game's various locations.

May stated that their main goal is simply to get people interested in the mod, as well as to show that he "would like to have a few new people involved" in the development of the mod.

Any Minecraft or Escape from Tarkov fans who want to provide feedback on the mod can leave their thoughts in the comments of the video. While it's still a long way from the final version, an early demo of the mod definitely lives up to the original Tarkov title and gives fans a lot to get excited about.
