PlayStation 5 - Price, Release Date, Specs and Everything You Need to Know
After a long time, Sony has revealed pricing and release information for the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 and Digital Edition console.
At a presentation on September 16, the company revealed that the PS5 and its cheaper counterpart will cost $499,99 and $399,99, respectively.
Sony's next line of game consoles will be available November 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The rest of the world will receive it on November 19th.
The long-awaited announcement will put Sony's main console at the same price as its main competitor, the Xbox Series X. The digital version will cost about $100 more than the Xbox Series S.
PlayStation 5 pre-orders
According to the official PlayStation Twitter account, Sony will put the new console up for pre-order just a day after the PS5 demo "in select stores."

However, according to Geoff Keighley, some retailers may place pre-orders as early as Wednesday 16 tonight, so soon after the price announcement.

Console affordability has been on the minds of every PlayStation fan ever since reports began surfacing that Sony would cut production by four million units.
But those rumors were later debunked when Sony released a statement debunking those reports and that they were still on track to release 15 million PS5 units by March 2021.

Along with confirming the PS5 price and release date, the company has also revealed pricing for many PlayStation accessories, including the DualSense standalone wireless controller, PULSE 3D wireless headset, and more.

Next-gen games will see a $10 price increase for standard games to $69,99/6 yen/€980 for new releases.
While there will still be some games priced at $49,99/5900 yen/€59,99 or $59,99/6900 yen/€69,99, expect many popular titles to start at $70.
