Pokemon Go: Darkrai Raid Guide
The Pokemon Go Halloween 2019 event is underway and a new mythical Pokemon has been introduced to the game: Darkrai. The nightmarish dark type has started showing up in five-star raid battles, making this your first chance to catch it in Pokemon Go.
Darkrai will only be available in raids until November 1st, when the Pokemon Go Halloween event ends, so you'll need to make the most of that time if you're hoping to add a few to your collection. To help you out, we've put together some tips on how to fight and catch Darkrai below.
How to Find Darkrai
Like many other Legendary and Mythic Pokémon, Darkrai can be found as a Tier XNUMX Raid Boss, so to face it in the game you will need to head to the Gym where the Darkrai Raid takes place. Mythical Pokémon will occasionally spawn in Gyms, but your best bet to find one will be during the Legendary Raid Hour events.
For one hour every Wednesday night, there will be more five-star raids featuring the current Legendary Pokemon Go, effectively ensuring you find the raid. There will be two hours of Darkrai raid before the Mythical Pokémon returns to the shadows. The first will take place on October 23, and the second on October 30. Both events will take place from 6-7 pm local time.
To participate in a raid battle, you will need a raid pass. You can either purchase them from the Pokemon Go in-game store or get one for free when you spin a photo disc at PokeStop; however, you can only hold one free Raid pass at a time.
Best Darkrai Counters
Before you can capture Darkrai, you first need to defeat him in combat and he will prove to be a tough opponent. Darkrai is a pure dark type, which means he is susceptible to combat. The best Darkrai opponents in Pokémon GO are strong fairies and fighting types of Pokémon. These include Machamp, Togekiss, Hariyama, Heracross, Toxicroak, Breloom and Gardevoir. Darkrai is weak to attacks like Fighting, Fairy and Bug. Pokémon Darkrai is enhanced by foggy weather. If you defeat him in a raid, you can capture Darkrai with the following CP stats:
- 2048 - 2136 CP in the case of a regular battle;
- 2560 - 2671 CP in foggy weather.
Due to its high defense and high attack stat, Darkrai is hard to beat in small groups. At best, you can beat Darkrai with three people in cloudy weather with strong fighting types of Pokémon. But if you really try hard, some coaches can pass it in a duet. At the same time, it is best to assemble a team of 3 to 7 high-level players. For weaker coaches, you need a group with more than 10 players. Darkrai is a Dark-type Mythical Pokémon with 53623 CPU that was introduced in Generation 4.
Darkrai Attack Sets This Pokémon has access to the following moves: Swift Moves - Snarl and Feint Attack. Charged Attacks - Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball and Focus Blast. In a fight with Darkrai, his most difficult attack will be Shadow Ball, which hits very powerfully, and few of your Pokémon will be able to resist. Whatever its attacks are, they can be easily countered by picking the right Pokémon to fight. Against the Dark Pulse attack, you need to choose combat types. They will take less damage and move around easily. The Focus Blast attack must be dealt with by Pokemon Gardevoir and Togekiss. If you are hit by a Shadow Ball attack, then you can counter it with Fighting-type Pokémon. Weather Effects See how weather can affect a given battle:
