In these last story missions in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the protagonist returns to previous locations to complete certain missions.

Impending catastrophe
The Disaster Looming mission will have you travel through the following areas. Click on them to learn more about them, such as the Pokémon that appear there:

Go outside
Wake up and go outside to see what the commotion is all about. You will notice that a rift in the sky opens up and turns red.
Head upstairs and you will speak to Commander Kamadao, where you will also learn that he believes there is a connection between the enraged nobles and your appearance at the start of the game.
After some interrogation, you will be expelled from the village of Jubilife, but you will still have the opportunity to investigate what is happening. Captain Sillin will escort you from Jubilife Village to Camp Fieldlands with Professor Laventon and Akari or Rey.
In obsidian fields
After talking to the three of them, Sillin will tell you that you might just be able to get help from the Pearl and Diamond clans. First, you must find Lian.
Find Lian
Travel to Hartwood to meet him. Ask him for help and he will say that he can't, but you can get help from Overseer Mai, who is on the Worn Bridge.
Find Mai
Head to the Worn Bridge to speak with Mai. She will also say that she must refuse help. When you leave, Volo (who has been looking for you everywhere) will appear and take you to the perfect hideout he knows. Follow Volo and talk to the mysterious person who lives in the hideout, Mrs. Kogita.
Inside the cabin
Here you will learn about three lakes that are important in the Hisui region: Lake Verity, Lake Valor and Lake Sharpness.
Each of them will have a challenge (your next three missions) that you must complete and then deliver a gift to the Shrouded Ruins. This will reward the Red Chain to close the rift. Your Arc Phone will beep to tell you the location of the three lakes.
You and Volo will be on their way to begin the trials. When you go outside, Abra will appear with a letter addressed to you from Captain Sillin. Irida and Adaman will also appear and here you will be asked to select only one of them to help you with the challenges ahead.
Once selected, this will unlock the following three missions:
- Lake Verity Test
- Trial of Lake Valor
- Lake sharpness test
You can choose in which order you complete them.
Lake Verity Test
The Trial of Lake Verity mission will have you travel through the following areas. Click on them to learn more about them, such as the Pokémon that appear there:
- obsidian fields
- Lake Verity
- Verity Cave
In obsidian fields
When you reach the Obsidian Fields, head to Lake Verity, which is located to the west. Follow the marker to an island in the middle of the lake.
Here you will meet Volvo and Adaman or Irida depending on who you choose to help in these trials. They will tell you that the lake is protected by a Pokémon named Mesprit. After talking, your Arc Phone will beep and suddenly the cave will open to let you inside.
Enter Verity Cave to see Alpha Goodra waiting for you. You will need to fight this Pokémon for Mesprit to spawn.
How to prepare for the battle with Alpha Goodra
Alpha Goodra is a Dragon/Steel type Pokémon that is weak to combat and ground attacks. It is immune to Poison and Grass Pokémon.
Response to Mesprit's trial
When you defeat Gudra, Mesprit will appear and ask you to share your emotions with her. He will ask you a series of questions:
- When you fell to this earth, what stirred in your heart?
- What's it like bonding with Pokémon and working together?
- How did you feel when you mixed with the Hisui clans?
- How did you feel when you were kicked out of the Galaxy Team?
It seems that no matter what you answer, Mespirt will give you Mesprit plumewhich is needed to create Red Chain.
You will receive the other two parts by completing missions.
- Trial of Lake Valor
- Lake sharpness test
And with that, Mespirt will disappear and you can leave Verity's cave to return to Mistress Kogita's house and solve your next test.
Trial of Lake Valor
The Trial of Lake Valor mission will have you travel through the following areas. Click on them to learn more about them, such as the Pokémon that appear there:
- Crimson Mirlands
- Lake Valor
- Cave of Valor
Travel to the Crimson Myrelands
To get to Lake Valor, you need to travel to the Crimson Myrlands. When you speak to Volo and Iris or Adaman here, you will learn that the lake is protected by Azelf.
Your Arc Phone will beep and open the entrance to the Cave of Valor to let you in. Once inside, you will face Alpha Overquill to fight before Azelf shows up.
How to prepare for the battle with Alpha Overqwill
Alpha Overquill is a Dark/Poison Pokémon. This should make him weak to a number of different attacks, including: Fairy, Fight, Ghost, and Steel.
Response to Azelf's trial
When you defeat Alpha Overquill, Azelf will appear. Instead of asking you questions, he will ask you to throw balms at him.
Try throwing in a few balms and you'll soon see how difficult it is to do so. But don't give up when asked. Instead, just keep throwing until he is asked if you stop a few times.
Then with one last throw you will hit Azelf. This will result in you getting the second part needed for the Red Chain, Azel's Fang.
Leave Cave of Valor
Once you've obtained the Fang of Azelf, you want to return to the hideout to take on your third and final challenge, the Trial of the Sharpness of the Lake.
Lake sharpness test
The Trial of Lake Acuity mission will have you travel through the following areas. Click on them to learn more about them, such as the Pokémon that appear there:
- Alabaster Iceland
- Lake Sharpness
- Cave of Sharpness
In alabaster iceland
Head to the Alabaster Icelands and Lake Ostrota in the northern part. Here you will learn that Wuxi is guarding him. Once again, your Arc Phone will beep and the entrance to the Cave of Sharpness will be opened.
Head inside to meet Alpha Zoroark, who you will need to fight.
How to prepare for the battle with Alpha Zoroark
Alpha Zoroark is a Normal/Ghost Pokémon. To prepare for battle, bring Dark-type Pokémon with you and avoid using Ghost-type and Psychic-type Pokémon, which Zoroark is strong against.
Response to Wuxi's lawsuit
Once you defeat him, Uxie will appear and ask you a question:
- Question: combo. Zubat. Uninitiated. Magneton. Dusclops. How many eyes do they have?
- Answer: 60131
Kombi has three faces with two eyes each, for a total of six. Zubat has no eyes. unown has one eye. A magneton is just three magnetites together and each one has one eye, so a magneton has three. Dusclops has one eye.

For a correct answer you will receive Uxie's Claw - the third part, necessary for Red Chain.

With all three pieces, you should now be able to craft a Red Chain. Leave the Cave of Sharpness and meet Volo and Iris or Adaman again. They will take you to the ruins, where you will also be met by Mrs. Kogita.
While you're trying to figure out how to make a Red Chain, three Lake Pokémon show up and forge it for you. While here, you will also learn that Commander Kamado plans to climb Mount Coronet himself.
With this information, you return to Jubilife Village to speak with Professor Laverton, Akira or Rey, and Captain Sillin.
This is where you get your rank back and are ordered to climb Mount Coronet for your next mission.
On top of Mount Coronet
Location at the top of Mount Coronet
The mission at the top of Mount Coronet will have you traveling through the following areas. Click on them to learn more about them, such as the Pokémon that appear there:

Leave the city of Jubilee
When you leave the village, you will receive a Max Revive and will be automatically sent to the Summit Camp. The place where you end up is at the Sinnoh Temple in the Coronet Highlands.
At the summit camp
Volo will join you when you arrive and give you 3 max potions before you set off. After a short conversation with Melly, climb to the top of Mount Coronet to pursue Commander Kamado.
When you reach the marker, go inside the Stone Portal and you'll be greeted by... Beni. It turns out that Beni and Kamado work together, and Beni is his right hand. His job is to get rid of you before you interfere with Commander Kamado's plans. He will drop a smoke bomb and transform, after which the battle will begin!

Mismagius Beni will take the most damage from ghost-type and dark-type attacks. You can also use these ghost type moves against Gallade and Gardevoir, as well as Steel and Poison type attacks for the latter. Psychic-type moves are most effective against Snisler, but you can also deal good damage with ground-type and flying-type attacks. Gallada is also weak to flying-type moves, along with Fairy-type attacks.
Go to Sinnoh Temple
Once you defeat Beni, he will ask you to save Kamado from himself. Continue forward over Mount Coronet and meet Adaman and Irida. Start a conversation with Commander Kamado which will eventually end in a fight as well. Whoever wins will decide what happens in the Temple.

In this encounter with Commander Kamado, remember that his Hisui Braviary will be weak to moves like Rock, Ice, Theme, Electricity, and Ghost. The golem is also weak to Ice-type moves, as well as water-type moves, which will deal a significant amount of damage. Snorlax is weak to combat-type moves, while Clefable is weak to Poison and Steel-type moves.
During the battle, Commander Kamado will use a maximum potion to restore his Pokémon's health.
After the battle
After defeating him, he will give in and ask you to deal with the Pokémon. Take the Red Chain to the dais in Sinnoh Temple.
This is where who you choose for your challenges will affect the Pokémon that will appear.
The Kamado will give you 10 Ultra Orbs and once you use the Red Chain to tie up the Pokémon you will need to fight it and then capture it.
If you have chosen Irida, you will see Palkia. If you selected Adaman, you will see Dialga. You must capture the Pokémon at the end of the fight or you will have to repeat it, so don't beat it!
Once you're done with the fight Palkia or Dialga, their analogue will appear. Since the Red Chain is broken, you won't be able to fight this one. Instead, you will all be running back to Summit Camp.
Return to camp
The clan leaders, Professor Laverton, Akira or Rey, will discuss what is needed to capture Palkia or Dialga. The Professor figures out that the plates you've been collecting throughout the game are important, and that you'll need to find the Origin ore.
Help will be called to the camp so you can continue with the final mission of The Counterpart.

Keep in mind that The Counterpart are endgame missions, which means there will be spoilers on this page!
At the summit camp
When help arrives, you'll be on your way to the Grotto of the Primordial Grotto to get hold of the Origin Ore. When you reach the grotto, before you can start mining, the sisters of Miss Fortune will come to interrupt the events again!
Since both Adaman and Iris are with you, you will only have to fight one of the sisters, who is Charm.

Raydon Sharma is especially weak to Water and Grass type moves, but will also take a lot of damage from Steel, Ice, Ground and Fighting type attacks. Her Gengar is weak to Dark, Psychic, Ghost, and Ground-type attacks. So a Ground-type Pokémon should be useful against both.
Extraction of original ore
Origin Ore will be extracted after the battle. Once you receive it, you will need to report to Professor Laverton and then you will return to Jubilife Village.
In the village of Jubilife
Back in Jubilife, the professor will task Akira or Rei with creating something to capture the Pokémon at the Sinnoh Shrine. Soon after, Akira or Rei will run out with the Origin Ball.
Only in this way will you be able to capture the mad Dialga or Palkia in the Sinnoh Temple.
Back to the temple
You are told to prepare well before leaving Jubilife Village and heading to the temple. To leave, you must have Palkia or Dialga in your party.
Return to the Coronet Highlands and then climb back up to the top of Mount Coronet. As you enter the Stone Portal, you will encounter Volo who has been waiting for you. Here you can buy from him anything you may have forgotten just before you get to the temple and start the battle.
As with the previous boss fights, when the fight starts with Dialga/Palkia, you will need to throw a balm at him and avoid his moves.
How to deal with Dialga/Palkia
You will need to keep moving during this fight, as well as throwing the Balm of Time. Dialga/Palkia will alternate between covering wide circles with explosions and sending out our rings that you will need to jump over. Keep dodging by throwing Time Balm until Dialga/Palkia's health bar is depleted.
When you defeat him, you will Orb of Origin and grab it.
After the battle
After the battle, there will be a short conversation between the clan leaders and calls for celebration will begin.
Congratulations, you have beaten the main story of Pokemon Legends: Arceus and the credits will begin.
After the credits, your arc phone will beep and it will tell you "Look for all the Pokémon." You will return to your room, ready to begin the Dawn of a New Day.
