On Thursday, May 9th, Fortnite Season 9 officially kicks off and the next phase of life for the popular battle royale title begins. With Epic Games revealing three teaser images that spelled out the mysterious word NEO, and the Abandoned Towers and Trading Post locations that were destroyed at the end of Season 8, the Fortnite community sure has plenty of questions it wants answered. when Season 9 content starts with Update 9.00. Fortnite Season 9 9.00 Update 

Taking the official Twitter account for the Battle Royale game, Epic Games has revealed that the server downtime to implement the 9.00 update for Fortnite Season 9 will begin at 1:00 AM PST / 3 AM CST / 4 AM EST. As with previous header content updates, the patch notes should become available after server startup.

GAME PROCESS

MISSIONS AND MECHANICS

    • Head to the Storm Shield Base to test yourself in new mission simulations! All kinds of existing zones are available in the simulation, and new areas will be added gradually. Four simulations are currently available.
      • "Tornado what you need." Your fort is being destroyed by a tornado! In the simulation, your buildings are destroyed, and the players, along with the husks, fly into the air.
      • "Hot Spots". A volcanic eruption causes lava to break through the ground, damaging structures and turning Husks into fire monsters.
      • "Anomalous Activity" In this simulation, anomalous faults appear near the point to be protected. Be careful: get too close to them, and they will suck the life force and energy out of you!
      • "Safe zone". When the main storm shield goes down, you will only have to rely on portable shield generators. To escape the Storm, you will have to hide in protective bubbles. Take care of the generators, because the husks will try to destroy them.
    • During a simulation session, players must defend their base for seven minutes. After that, one of the amplifiers is randomly selected to be protected for another seven minutes.
      • Collect Chrono Modules that appear around you to shorten the duration of the waves.
    • War Games introduces an additional restriction: if you run out of health, you must be resurrected by another player. If all players are killed, the mission is considered failed, so you only have one attempt to complete the simulation if you are playing alone.
    • If the simulation seems too easy for you, add any of the nine new difficulty modifiers to get additional rewards:
      • Fog Scourge - Dense fog obscures the line of sight and the mini-map.

  • Arrows have been added that allow you to select any of the available events in the Quests tab.

Improvements and bug fixes
  • Improved the visibility of large squad icons on player plinths in the lobby.
  • Large squad icons no longer mark empty slots as ready.
  • Selecting a highlighted party member in a lobby with a gamepad no longer shows the other member's options.
  • When a player joins one of the participants in a match, he is displayed correctly, in the form of a hologram.
  • Clarifications have been made to the description of the “Create a Squad” function.
  • Fixed a bug due to which some parts of the character became invisible when the player joined the match.

COMMUNICATION

  • Players now stay in the default party voice chat when joining a match. The game channel is still working, but the switch is no longer automatic.
  • Added an option to visually customize the voice chat indicators.

  • The same recommended friends now appear in the launcher and in the social bar.
  • The "Wait/Join" button in the squad creation window is now displayed correctly.
  • An error no longer occurs when sending a friend request to a suggested user.
  • If "Friend" is checked in the group permissions, players can still send group invites after joining and leaving the group.
  • Fixed an issue where an incorrect notification would appear when a player joins a channel.
  • Voice indicators no longer remain on the screen after the player leaves the group while the group members are talking.
  • Fixed an issue with duplicate voice indicators for the same speaker.

PERFORMANCE

  • Improved visualization for more comfortable monitoring of what is happening on the screen.
  • Improved animation performance for ControlRig technology (Werewolf, Krampus).
