Popular K/DA group Riot Games League of Legends will be back two years after their original 2018 track "POP/STARS" and are scheduled to debut on Thursday, August 27 with a new pre-release single "The Baddest".

K/DA confirmed their comeback on Twitter on August 20, sharing one image of their group's logo next to the date. The fictional K-pop group also confirmed that their latest offering would be a "pre-release single" titled "The Baddest".

The group's "The Baddest" announcement also brought with it another piece of good news for K/DA fans; Two years after their formation, the group finally joined social media. Account K/DA in Twitter already has about 32 thousand subscribers.

League fans should be able to tune in to listen to K/DA's latest single on August 27th. The track will premiere at 15pm EST / 00pm PST / 12pm ET / 20am AEST (August 5).

The fictional K-pop quartet consists of Madison Beer, Miyeon, (G)I-DLE's Soyeon, and Jayra Burns, who all "play" League of Legends champions. Riot has yet to confirm the new K/DA roster.

K/DA debuted for the first time ahead of the 2018 League of Legends World Cup. The fictitious group's first track "POP/STARS" was filmed by them to surprise global chart fame.

Two years later, the musical group LoL boasts over 362 million views on the song's video on YouTube. They also debuted at the 2018 World Championship where they competed as Evelynn, Ahri, Akali and Kai'Sa respectively.

K/DA '#COMEBACK' To Take Place Just Days After Creators Riot Games signed a major music deal with Universal Music Publishing Group. The partnership includes six new tracks to be released to promote the 2020 World Cup final.

In July, Riot also held a themed esports camp with fourteen UMPG artists as part of a new deal. Camp participants included Gong, Chiyo, GMA winner Matska, and others.

The six-song deal could also mean the return of virtual hip-hop group True Damage, who premiered "GIANTS" at the 2019 World Cup. Soyeon, who plays Akali in K/DA, was involved in LoL's second group as part of a "side project".

However, Riot has yet to confirm any of the six other League of Legends tracks besides the new KDA single. It's likely the virtual K-pop group will get multiple releases, given that 'The Baddest' has been dubbed a 'pre-single'.

Real K-pop groups often pre-release singles as they come back to create buzz. This is usually followed by a series of tracks, either as a short three-song single or for an EP or full album. KDA might even release six new songs!

The 2020 League of Legends World Championship kicks off on September 25 in Shanghai. The final will take place on November 10th. There will be no live ceremonies at the event, but Riot will still be holding pre-match musical performances.
