Elon Musk and Genshin impact is definitely one crossover event that fans couldn't have foreseen, but it looks like miHoYo really wants SpaceX's chief engineer to stream their game. In a bizarre viral campaign, Genshin Impact's official Twitter account beckoned its fans to follow. @Paimon2theMoon .
Interestingly, this new social media account appears to be based on the playable character Ella Musk. This NPC can be found in the city of Mondstadt and is known for their knowledge of Hilichurl linguistics. It remains to be seen if Elon Musk is a Genshin Impact fan or not, but that hasn't stopped the Tesla owner from joining in on the fun.
Elon Musk may be streaming Genshin Impact
MiHoYo isn't exactly new to the world of video game collaboration. In fact, over the years, developers have added various characters to their games, the most recent being Aloy from the Horizon Zero Dawn series .
However, many Genshin Impact players were surprised to see that the developers turned to Elon Musk. The tweet quickly attracted a lot of attention and went viral within minutes of being posted.
Although the original tweet has been deleted, miHoYo has outlined a number of milestones that could be reached if they got a certain number of followers. The levels are described below:
- 500 k signed : @GenshinImpact will be renamed back to Paimon
- 1 million subscribers : @GenshinImpact will follow @ElonMusk
- 3 million subscriptions : @GenshinImpact invites @ElonMusk to stream Genshin Impact
- 5 million subscriptions : @GenshinImpact CEO Dawei to invite Elon Musk to miHoYo headquarters
Obviously, the biggest target here is Elon Musk's offer to stream Genshin Impact and visit the miHoYo headquarters. Although it is not uncommon for the entrepreneur to join in on internet jokes and memes, fans were still surprised by his response.
"Can't wait to be on Genshin Impact," said Elon Musk. This tweet has since gone viral and fans around the world are looking forward to seeing what miHoYo does next. Whether or not Elon will actually continue streaming remains to be seen, but it's certainly one of the most frustrating things that can happen to a game.
