Walkthrough Elden Ring: Mogwin Palace

Welcome to our Elden Ring Mogvin Palace location guide! The Mogwin Palace is a place you probably spotted in the distance on the Siofra River, bathed in red light on top of the cliffs.

You can get to this place relatively early by completing a side quest, or right at the end of the game, once you have passed the peaks of the Giants. The main purpose of coming here is to fight an optional boss. Mog, Lord of Blood in its true form.

For all other regions, please refer to the walkthrough Elden Ring.

Passing stages:

Mogvin Palace - how to get there

The Mogwin Palace can be accessed in two different ways: the first is relatively early in the game, and the other is near the very end of the storyline.

Complete the quest White-faced Varre's Quest:

An earlier method is to complete the white-faced Varre quest chain. Varre is an NPC that you can find right after entering Limgrave in a place of grace called "The first step».

The first step
White-faced Varre

After talking to him and advancing to Liurnia after defeating Godric (or any other Shard Master), you can find him again in Temple of the Rose.

Talk to him before entering the Temple, then he will give you Rotten Bloody Fingers (5 pieces) and you need to use them by invading other worlds three times. Whether you successfully kill the captured player or not doesn't matter, just use the Fingers to invade three times and then return to your world. You can then visit Varre again and agree to join his order, where he will give you the item Grace of the Lord of Blood and asks you to dip it (cloth) in the maid's blood. The nearest place where you can do this is in Liurnia - Temple of restraint, located in the northeast corner of Liurnia, through an area filled with Frenzied Enemies.

Alternatively, if you still have available Intense Sword Key or didn't use the one at the Four Bell Towers, you can use the second portal up the hill (the one further north) to return to Waiting Chapel (the place where you start the game). Return to the room where you start the game. Find the dead maid and interact with the body to dip the cloth.

Портал

Return to Varre and you will receive Pureblood Knight Medal. You can then use that item from your inventory to teleport directly to Mogvin Palace.

Portal in the Sacred Snowfield:

If you don't want to complete Varre's quest (or kill him before it's completed), then you'll have to wait almost until the end of the game to get to Mogvin Palace. The entrance to the palace lies through the location Sacred snowy field, western part The peaks of the giants.

Once you get to this area, you need to head to the location located on the western edge (mostly directly west of the grace location of the Inner Sacred snowy field).

Sacred snowy field

Once you get to this place, it will be a pile of white stumps. When you get close to the area, you will be attacked by red bot Anastasia.

Defeat this enemy, then continue to the cliff to the west near the fallen tree. South of the tree, you can find a blood-drenched portal. Interact with the portal to get to the palace Mogvinov (the portal is not active until you kill Anastasia, so don't try to get away from the fight with her).

Using the portal, you are transported to a very dark cave. Follow it and then head down the cliff on the left to find the first grace spot in the area.

Steep road leading to the Mogvin Palace

Just beyond the edge to the west is just a huge hole, so you'll need to follow the path that goes north around the rocks, making your way through the crowd of Albinaurics.

steep road

The regular gray ones sitting on the ground won't attack until you touch them, but the new red ones will attack when you get close. They have basically the same attacks that you might have come across in Liurnia, but they have new forms of damage, such as sprouting spikes before spinning for extra damage.

Note that you can use the horse in this lower part of the Morgvin Palace, so you can just run past most of the enemies if you want. Continue along the path until you reach a bloody lake. To get to the palace itself, you need to keep to the right wall until you reach the stairs leading inside.

If you feel like turning left into the middle of the bloody lake, you can find a ghost tree and golden seed. Just watch out for more dogs and large birds.

As you move west along the outer edge of the area, watch out for enemies who blow their horns as you approach. They summon large skeleton ghosts to attack you. Although, if you can quickly kill Albinauric, he will disappear immediately.

We enter the open temple, inside Map: Mogvin Palace, which must be taken from the corpse before climbing the second ladder.

Head up the next flight of stairs to find the second grace spot in the area.

Entrance to the Mausoleum of the Mogvin dynasty

Continue up the next flight of stairs. The entire area of the Mausoleum is full of zombie enemies that explode on kill, causing a bleeding status. You can freely walk past most of them if you want, and if you choose to kill you won't get a decent reward because they don't give a lot of runes compared to the other enemies here.

Staircase in the mausoleum

Follow the path around the cliff until you reach a large red enemy blocking your path. Instead of trying to cut your way through it while all the enemies can be right behind you, you can just run down the left side of the tombstones and attack him from behind or just ignore this fight.

red boss

At the top of the hill, enter a dark doorway with a large group of zombies kneeling in front of it.

There are no enemies in this area right away, but as you progress, Anastasia-style enemies emerge from the ground to attack you.

They usually spawn if you deviate from the main path, so if you just want to run through the tunnel, most of them don't have time to spawn to attack you. Run through the dark tunnel.

You can then find the final grace spot before the boss just outside the doorway as you exit the cave.

Lost Grace

Inside the mausoleum of the dynasty

Continue towards the boss. On the left, you can notice a large group of Albinaurics standing around the statue, led by the boss. You can ignore this group of enemies if you wish, or fight them to get Grim Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone from the chest at the foot of the statue.

When you're ready to continue, take the elevator right in front of the statue.

Lift

Upstairs, you can go into the boss room.

Mog, Lord of Blood

We have written in detail about the battle with Mog, Lord of Blood in another guide, which can be found here. Let's just note one point. There is a bug in the game that will allow you to kill Mog without fighting. To do this, stand near the passage with fog and remove all equipment, including weapons, armor and spells. Then jump on the tombstones and climb over the wall on the right side:

By jumping into the arena with the boss naked, bypassing the main passage, you can approach him without causing him aggression. Now just take any weapon and start hitting it. He will not attack you back. Thus, you can earn 650 runes at the beginning of the game without any risk. It also drops Greater Rune of Mog and Memory of the Lord of Blood.

This method is well shown in the video below. The moment we are interested in begins at the time mark 11:23.

After defeating the boss, there is nothing else to do in this area, the rest of the mausoleum is just empty space.
