Krafton has officially announced that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be moving to a free-to-play (F2P) shareware model starting January 12, 2022 on PC and consoles. After switching to this model, it will include Battlegrounds Plus, an optional upgrade to the premium account, which will allow gamers to access many new and exclusive in-game features. However, even the basic account will have access to most of the gaming features.
The one-time payment for Battlegrounds Plus will be $13, it will give players:
- Bonus 1,300 G-COIN;
- Experience for Survival Mastery + 100% boost;
- Tab "Career - Medals";
- Ranked mode;
- Custom matches;
- In-game items.
Those who purchased the game prior to the transition to the F2P model will receive a special bundle that will include an automatic account upgrade to Battlegrounds Plus, a Seasoned Veteran skin pack, a Shackle and Shanks frying pan, and a Seasoned Veteran nameplate.
