The Shell Is Missing is a Genshin Impact quest in which you have to find lost shells in the Golden Apple Archipelago. Our guide will guide you through all the stages of the task and help you get all the rewards for completing it.
Note: The quest takes place on the islands Golden Apple Archipelago and will no longer be available after the end of the version Genshin Impact 2.8. Climb the tilted pole and climb the roots
Enter the central platform and look for a broken pillar resting on a large tree root. You can use the pillar and roots to climb the rocks until you reach an inverted archway from which you can jump over to the next ledge.
Jump to the ledge and soar to the hanging root
Once you are at the top of the arch, from the highest point you can glide with your glider to the thick root on the left.
Pass through the overhanging root and up the ledge
Walk carefully along the overhanging root to the very end and climb to the ledge above. From here, you can easily climb up the stairs until you are at the top of the mountain!

Sink on Broken Isle: Image of Central Camp II
AFTER completing Xin Yan's quest, be sure to return to her dungeon to collect a bunch of chests and another Dream Shell.
Travel to the drum located in the shallow water north of the Broken Isle. There, change the style of the mountains so that the right rock is small (the second and third screenshots below show what the island should look like).
Drain underground water with pyro totems
The goal of the puzzle is to drain the water by inflicting the element of pyro on all the totems. There are 8 torches and 2 pyro totems in total. You must light all the torches for their respective Pyro Totem to be unlocked.
The best character for this puzzle is Ember or Eimia, as they can easily set monuments on fire with their charged attacks.
How to unlock the first pyro totem
The first puzzle with the pyro totem is easy, as all of its torches are right next to the pillar! Simply light 4 torches and 1 totem to lower the water level and unlock the next piece of the puzzle.
How to unlock the second pyro totem
You will unlock the second pyro totem puzzle after the water level drops by solving the first puzzle. The second is a little more difficult, because the torches are scattered. Here's how you get to all of them.
Light the Torch on the ledge next to the chest. If you are on the first puzzle, it should be on the left side of the room.
Go deep into the cave where there are 2 pyro totems and light the torch next to it.
Go further into the cave and light Torch 3. It is slightly hidden under the wooden bridge.
Open the door at the end of the wooden path and go through it.
The last 4 torch is located on the other side of the door. Open the gate with the lever while you're on the other side!
Step back and light it up second pyro totemto completely drain the water.
Now you can step on dry ground and pick up the shell, right above the lantern.
Sink on Central Island: Image of Central Camp III
Head to an unnamed island located right in the middle of the archipelago. You will find the shell on the crates in the empty camp.
Sink on Parny Island: Picture of Central Camp IV
After the quest Fischl (day 4 of the event), the shell can be found on Steamy Island in a small well. But just don't get it. You need to talk to the crows around, then the "Throw Stone" button will appear.
A stone is any piece of ore that you have in your bag. You need to throw three stones, then the shell will be available.
