New Black Ops Cold War Content Revealed: Classic CoD Map, Warzone Weapons & More
While Vanguard is in the spotlight, Treyarch's Black Ops Cold War still has all new content in development as classic CoD maps, new weapons and operatives have been revealed for an upcoming update.
Contrary to the trend of past CoDs remaining in the dust as new games grab everyone's attention, 2020's Black Ops Cold War is still being updated.
While attention may now be focused on Major update to the third season of WarzoneTreyarch got ahead of the content dump with a big announcement of its own on April 14th.
It appears that new content is currently being developed Cold War. From the return of classic maps to the addition of unique weapons that could greatly impact the Warzone meta, there's a lot on the horizon.
Latest Cold War Update came out on March 4th, breathing new life into the multiplayer experience with an updated WMD map along with the Vargo 52 assault rifle.
On the heels of this unexpected drop in content, Treyarch is now set to release another update of a similar size in the "not too distant future."
Headlining the next patch is another classic Black Ops map, Jungle. Debuting in 2010, the layout quickly became a fan favorite and has since been ported to several Treyarch games.
This newly updated version of the Jungle will join all the standard 6v6 playlists in the cold war.
Jungle enters the modern age with fresh visuals in Black Ops Cold War.
In addition, the next content release includes "an all-new ranged weapon" confirmed Treyarch. Although details are still scarce, we know that this gun will be available not only in the cold war, but also in warzone.
This means battle royale players can also expect a slight change in the meta in Season 3 and beyond, with other ranged weapons joining the mix. From the unique sniper to the extra AR, we'll have to wait and see what exactly gets added during the Cold War.
In addition, one additional operative must also join the fight. Treyarch has teased a "familiar face from the campaign", but it's not known exactly who it might be.
The new cosmetics are set to keep Cold War players coming back in future updates.
While that's all for the next big update, more content is planned for further drops later this year. Melee weapons, operative skins, blueprints, finishing moves, calling cards, amulets, and emblems are under development, so expect lots of fresh cosmetics in the coming months.
We'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as the patch dates for these upcoming Cold War updates are announced.
