Destiny 2 Developers Promise 'Big Changes' in Season 11
Bungie has announced plans to take Destiny 2 in a new direction in Season 11 and beyond, after their hugely popular title garnered massive community backlash due to a series of "lackluster" content drops in 2020.
After loud flow Bungie and Activision in January, the developers are sailing alone with their marauder-shooter franchise. Fans expected the split to freshen up the game. It looks like the opposite happened.
There were several successful moves from the developers. Destiny Trials of Osiris Competitive Playlist made a welcome return in season 10. Unfortunately, the response has been muted. Some fans have even gone so far as to demanded the return of Activision .
Basically, this is the main source of panic for Destiny. The game itself has benefited from being free-to-play, but overall the mood has deteriorated. Bungie's move from expansions to new season passes is at the forefront of public outcry.
The ongoing backlash caused a movement in Bangui's ranks. Community manager Dylan 'dmg04' Gafner promised "huge changes" along the way, while director Luke Smith confirmed a move away from his hated "FOMO" strategy.
Bungie Reveals 'New Direction' For Destiny In Next Seasons
According to director Justin Truman, who wrote about the issues on a developer blog earlier this week, Bungie will be "trying to do something a little different" to win back fans who are leaving the game.
“Recently, the list of issues related to the game has been growing” - “Trials [of Osiris], the rise of PC cheaters, our new seasonal model, the balance between the rewards you earn and the items you buy. We are watching closely,” he said.
Another game community manager, Cozmo, echoed Truman's sentiment. He added to reddit thread that Bungie is "well aware" that fans are experiencing "a lot of frustration right now" and has confirmed plans to fix it.
When might these "huge changes" appear in Destiny 2?
Unfortunately, none of Bungie's statements have confirmed when these planned changes might arrive. However, some dates have been set: on Twitter, Smith mentioned "the arrival of season 12".
"[We already have] a lot of good stuff in Destiny," the franchise director also said. “We also have a long way to go before it ends up in a place that we are really proud of. We will be talking about the next steps in the coming weeks.”

It's not much, especially without any details about what's planned to be fixed in Destiny, but it's certainly cause for celebration. In order for Bungie to break radio silence, they must understand that they must act quickly.
