Halo Infinite Devs Reveal Multiplayer and Campaign Details

Halo Infinite is without a doubt one of the most anticipated games of 2021, and while we still don't know if it will feature a battle royale mode, 343 Industries has revealed a lot of new details for fans to explore.

The game's release date was previously scheduled for December 2020, but has been pushed back to give developers more time amid the current global health situation. When it was confirmed that the end of 2021 would be the final launch window, players expected more information to be released gradually over the course of the year.

On March 12, they fulfilled our wish. The development team has released #Ask343 on YouTube, answering some of the many questions fans of the franchise have been asking lately.

Joining Community Manager John Junishek are several developers, including Lead World Designer John Mulkey, Lead Sandbox Designer, Quinn DeLoyo, Gameplay Director Troy Mashburn, and many more.

Halo Infinite Developers Reveal More Campaign and Gameplay Details

During the meeting, which lasted over 40 minutes, the team discussed a wide range of topics, from weather systems to campaign development.

They confirmed that there will be no playable elite in Halo Infinite and that two-handed weapons are not on the agenda for launch. But one of the most interesting questions is what kind of game people should expect.

Will Halo Infinite be an open world?

Asked if it's going to be an open world game, Mashburn said, "When you talk about an open or semi-open world, there's a lot of preconceived notions about what that means. Are you going to collect skin, do crafting and the like? We're not talking about that."

Using the example of the Silent Cartographer mission, he also added that players will have a lot of choices and we can expect that there will be many paths available to complete the objectives.

Biomes Halo Infinite

On top of that, they also delved into the Zeta Halo biomes. Campaign Artistic Director Justin Dinges said: “The Pacific Northwest is our main biome, it was our choice. We were excited about it and wanted to get it right. Within this biome, you really discover a variety of sub-biomes.”

He confirmed that there would be war-torn areas called the Deadlands, as well as swampy lands, hexagonal caves, and exiled bases.

For more information, below is a complete list of questions and answers, as well as a list of news snippets from the interview.

Nothing has been confirmed on that front yet, although many fans have speculated about its inclusion.
