Red Dead Redemption 2: Health, Stamina and Dead Eye

The protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2 has three attributes - health, stamina and Dead Eye. In addition to the usual bars, each of the attributes also has a core. Read this page to learn about cores and how to use them, as well as how to regenerate cores in RDR2.

Interface attributes

The most important thing is to distinguish an ordinary bar from the main one. The bars are in the shape of a white circle. Each yar has its own icon: heart, lightning and eye. It should be noted that their length is not always the same. Arthur can expand them by progressing in the game.

They are "full" by default, and deplete over time. The depleted part of the nucleus becomes darker.

Attrition depletion

The energy bar is the first thing to deplete during activities:

  • The health bar depletes when Arthur takes damage.
  • The stamina bar depletes when Arthur performs various activities (such as running, swimming, or climbing).
  • Dead Eye depletes when using this mode (it slows down time)

The only purpose of the kernel is that they can serve you as a spare bar. For example, Arthur should not die when the health bar is depleted. When this happens, the game will begin to consider health as a new source. Arthur dies when his medical aid is empty. The same goes for stamina and Dead Eye.

Another important feature of the scales is the regeneration rate of the rods. For example, a full stamina core has the fastest stamina bar regeneration rate. A depleted core will not regenerate the corresponding bar at all.

Remember that cores deplete over time, even when not in use. In addition, cores can become depleted when:

  • The hero's weight is not optimal - when he is obese or too thin.
  • ➤The hero does not wear clothes appropriate for the current weather (use winter and summer clothes according to the region).
  • The hero has received a negative status effect, i.e. has been poisoned by a snake.

Additional Note - Cores do not deplete when you are in cover from a gang. Also, they deplete more slowly when you are riding a horse.

Regeneration

Bars and cores can be regenerated. Some methods work on multiple attributes, while others only work on one of the three. Here is a list of the most important ways to regenerate bars and cores:

  • Sleep. You can do this by using your bed in the gang's hideout, setting up a camp, or visiting a hotel.
  • Bath. A room with a bath can be found in any hotel.
  • Food, alcohol and tonics. Each remedy has a different application. In addition, depending on the item, you can regenerate your energy rod or core. Some elements may affect multiple attributes. Pay close attention to elements that can regenerate one attribute but have a negative effect on another. Cigarettes, shown in the picture above, can slightly restore the Dead Eye core, but they have a negative effect on the stamina core. Decide for yourself if you want to use these items or not.
  • Successful kills. This method only works for the dead eye.

Try to always look for enemies and locations - you can find food, alcohol and tonics. With this method, you will always have enough items for the attributes that interest you the most. Basic foodstuffs can be bought cheaply in stores, but tonics and more advanced medicines can even cost a few dollars a unit.

Strengthening Energy Bars and Cores

Attribute regeneration is not the only option in the game. You can also strengthen them. This will temporarily protect you from attribute depletion. It's not invisibility or an unlimited source of stamina, but you can use this method to make the game easier for you. Energy bars and cores can be strengthened by certain items found in the game or purchased from shops. Save them for more challenging fights and missions.

Bars for Your Horse

Each horse in the game has its own energy bars and cores. There are only health and stamina attributes here. They deplete and regenerate in the same way that Arthur does. The health bar depletes when the animal takes damage, while the stamina depletes when the horse rides for a longer period of time.

You can restore the horse's parameters by cleaning the animal (use a brush) and feeding. There are many different types of food in the game that will regenerate bars and cores. Some of them (like apples) can also be eaten by Arthur, but there are items reserved just for your horse (like hay). You can find them in the world or buy them in the store (stables are the best source of these types of products).
