Resident Evil 8: Capcom Can't Decide What Their Characters Look Like

Resident Evil 8

We've got our first look at Resident Evil 8: Village and it looks great, but how do we convince us it's really Chris Redfield.

Poor Redfield has come a long way since his appearance in the Resident Evil franchise, but despite his many appearances, none of his faces look even remotely similar. Capcom seems to have a serious case of mistaken identity.

Capcom unveiled our first look at Resident Evil 8: Village during a recent PlayStation 5 demos June 11th and she looked absolutely stellar. With the return of favorites like Ethan and the return of the story to werewolves, 8 definitely looks a lot darker than any previous games in the series. Aside from the stunning reveal, there's one part that we and other fans outside of our news team can't help but touch on: what the hell happened to Chris Redfield's face?!

Now, to be fair, there's been a significant graphical leap between some of these games, so differences are to be expected, and Capcom is far from the only studio to fall victim to "who the hell is that," but let's be objective - get swollen from obesity that's one thing, but that face? It doesn't look like him.

It's funny to line up his many faces in combination with each other, it really makes those differences show up much more drastically. But one thing definitely betrays him; he is the real G in the trailer. Redfield unloaded his revolver into his victim without a shadow of a doubt, as in the old days!

The Resident Evil 8 reveal was one of many new announcements that were revealed during the June 11 PlayStation demo, including our first look at the upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn sequel, the highly anticipated Demon's Souls remake, and more! Take a look at just a few of the news we covered at Sony:

What do you think of the Lost Identity Case in Resident Evil 8 with Chris Redfield? Let us know in the comments below, do not be shy!
