The brand new LTM "Imposters" has arrived in Fortnite and is heavily inspired by the Among Us series as players will need to complete their tasks and find the impostors.
The latest update has arrived Fortnite v17.40 , and it's quite large. Along with the introduction of DC hero Wonder Woman to Island, the patch also introduces a new story LTM that players will love: Imposter Mode.
Unlike most LTMs, which are basically just a fun way to pass the time, Epic promotes Impostor Mode as something important to the battle royale story, as it includes The Order and ties into Season 17's alien theme.
While the previous mode called Spy Within was pretty much a crossover between Us and Fortnite, this new LTM takes things to a whole new level. Here's everything you need to know about Imposter Mode and how to win the game.

How to play Impostor Mode in Fortnite
Since it's an LTM, it's not that hard to get into a match. Here's what you need to do in order to play impostor mode in Fortnite:
- Download Fortnite on the platform of your choice.
- Make sure you have the latest update (v17.40) installed.
- In the lobby, press the "Change Mode" button.
- Scroll to Impostors mode and select public or private session.
- Click "Play" and you'll start matchmaking.
There are two ways to play impostor mode: public or private. As you probably guessed, in public mode you team up with random players, while in private mode you can only compete with friends.
Imposters mode has a minimum of four players and a maximum of 10 players. Eight players will be assigned as agents, while two players will take on the role of impostors.
How to Win the Fortnite Impostor as an Agent
To win imposter mode as an agent, you need to complete many tasks , survive the entire match and eventually be able to identify all impostors, to destroy them.
To do this, you need to be on your guard throughout the match. Watch out for any suspicious activity from other players and try not to be alone with the suspects or you could be destroyed!
When the eliminated player is found, this is your chance to discuss the situation. Use voice commands to let your teammates know who you think the imposters are so you can vote together and expose them.
How to win Fortnite Impostor Mode as an Impostor
To win as an impostor, you need destroy all agents, without revealing himself as an impostor. To do this, you need to be stealthy and avoid being seen when doing suspicious activities.
You can use various sabotage to make this mission easier, such as disabling missions for agents, or starting a Banana Party where everyone is disguised in Banana outfits, making elimination much easier.
When you are in the discussion stage, you can use various speech commands to convince other players that you are not an impostor. This may include defending yourself and teammates, or falsely blaming others.
How to Complete Quests in the Impostors LTM
There are a number of tasks that agents can complete in Imposter Mode in Fortnite, and these are required to win. These can range from the calibration of llamas to the delivery of storm reports.
You can find the tasks that need to be completed by looking at the mini-map in the lower right corner of the screen. If you notice an exclamation mark, it means that you can find a task there.
However, be careful while completing the quests, as this is a great opportunity for impostors to stab you, especially if you are in a secluded room on the map.
How to Earn XP in Fortnite Impostors Mode
There are a number of hidden quests to complete in Imposter Mode, and they will earn you a pretty decent amount of experience. They won't appear until the end of the match, so you might not know them.
Here are the experience quests that can be completed in Imposter Mode:
- Complete missions as an agent: 4500 XP
- Play a match: 1500 XP
- Spend time playing a match: 450 XP
- Finish a match: 3000 XP
- Win a match: 3000 XP
- Perform Sabotage as an Impostor: 3000 XP
- Eliminate agents as an impostor: 4000 XP
Alongside them, there may be even more experience challenges in Impostors mode, but those are all the ones we know about so far. Even after completing just one match, you will earn a lot of experience to level up the Battle Pass.
