Riot Games announced The Mageseeker in the League of Legends universe
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night screaming "No more kings, no more queens, no more mages!"? If it is true, that The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story seeks to satisfy this sudden midnight desire to forcibly change the fantasy realm's political landscape.
If you are connected to the world LoL and his expanding media empire, you knew that The Mageseeker was coming. As revealed in January, South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee released a magical fantasy bag cat with a list quickly removed that mentioned The Mageseeker as an upcoming action game featuring the champion Silas. Riot Forge officially unveiled the game today via a new trailer titled "A year ahead". They also launched official website, which is weak on details at the moment, aside from the "soon on PC and consoles 2023" statement.
Watch the trailer here:
mageseeker will appear thanks to digital sun. This name may sound familiar to you as it is the team that brought us moonlighter, an attractive little RPG. From what little we can see in this new trailer, it looks like Digital Sun's pixel art talents will be put to good use. It has that lovely modern retro look, paired with signature art style. LoL, which personally captivates me.
Dubbed a "tough action-RPG" in the trailer description, we don't know much outside of the release window, main character and setting: Rugged City Demacia. The action, seen only through the stylized glass fragments in the trailer, looks bright, colorful, and fast-paced. Moreover, unlike moonlighter, it looks like you can move diagonally, thank god. Having only four directions of movement is like playing a game resident evilwhere you can't move while aiming.
No release date other than the always helpful "Spring 2023" banner in the trailer. The trailer also shows glimpses of other upcoming projects, including Song of Nunu, an adventure game from Tequila Works (Rime, Deadlight), starring Nunu and his yeti mount Willump, expected this fall; And Convergence, platformer Double Stallion Games (Speed Brawl) featuring flashy combat and signature art styles LoL, which should appear this summer.
