Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer with a 2025 Release Date
After years of rumors and speculation, Rockstar Games has finally released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Originally leaked less than a day before its scheduled debut, Rockstar decided to release it early. According to the trailer, GTA VI is set in Vice City, with a planned release in 2025. In their press release, the company confirmed the platforms as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar Games had previously confirmed the development of the next GTA game, but this is the first substantial information we’ve received about what to expect. The trailer aligns with rumors that GTA VI will feature two main characters – a male and a female. The female character appears to be an ex-convict, and glimpses of in-game social networks, along with content resembling TikTok or Instagram videos, are showcased. There’s also a Florida man joke, featuring Florida’s wetlands.
Additional details include hovercraft scenes, an alligator being pulled from a backyard pool (later seen entering a store), footage from a police body camera, the return of Weazel News, motorcycles and ATVs, heists, and an abundance of neon imagery.
Rather than revealing specific details about the game’s advancements compared to Grand Theft Auto V, first released in 2013, the trailer sets a mood while confirming the game’s title, setting, and release window. The fate of GTA Online remains unclear, leaving questions about whether Rockstar will introduce a new standalone mode, continue developing the existing game, or pursue other avenues.
