This is a new type of ore added in update 1.2 (along with Crimson agate), which can be used to craft weapons at the blacksmith. While there are plenty of places to farm Star Silver in Genshin Impact, there are better spots and fastest routes.
When exploring Dragon Ridge, Travelers will receive a quest Fang of Decay, and after finding 3 Strange Fangs, they will be tasked with finding 50 Star Silver Ore. Where to find Star Silver Ore
Because Star Silver is a rare ore in Genshin Impact, it takes time to respawn.
