Ruined King - Detailed Gameplay Breakdown

guide

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is the first indie game published by Riot Forge. Explore Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles in the world of Runeterra in this single player turn-based RPG.

guide

Resist Doom! The League of Legends universe is getting closer and brighter than ever before.

Explore the world of Runeterra

You can stroll through the narrow streets of Bilgewater and explore the mysterious dungeons of the Shadow Isles. With each change of scenery, new secrets, traps, puzzles, enemies and representatives of the monstrous fauna await you, which abound in the game.

You can have a nice chat with a friendly NPC, and start a fight with an enemy. Each champion has two special dungeon skills that allow you to engage in battle and interact with creatures or the environment. Some challenges can only be solved by a specific champion: for example, Braum breaks through thin walls with his shield, and Ahri uses his orb to reveal hidden enemies.

Familiar Champions, New Combat System

Ruined King takes the independent RPG genre from a new angle. First of all, it concerns battles. You may already be familiar with the champions who, by a whim of fate, ended up on the same team. However, outside of Summoner's Rift, they will fight on a completely different system.

It's a turn-based path system. Champions take turns using path skills, instant skills, and ultimate skills. In addition, champions can use items and passive skills in combat. Important elements of the combat system are also indicators of mana, health, overload scale and sequence of moves.

Champions level up. Each has the following set of stats: attack power, will, stamina, physical damage resistance, magic damage resistance, critical damage, critical strike chance, haste, evasion, armor penetration, magic penetration, and lifesteal.

In combat, champions fill roles that are generally traditional for role-playing games, but the set of skills is unique to Ruined King. With the right combination of champions, you can achieve synergy in battle. Skills can be upgraded and augmented with runes to determine what role each champion will play on the team and create winning combos with other characters' skills.

Fight in style

Ruined King has a large selection of items from weapons to potions so you can fight in style! There are swords, pistols and a wide variety of armor, including the famous Warmog armor. Some items can change the indicators of their owner. Each champion can wear armor, one weapon, and three adornments. Weapons vary in appearance, and you'll always see exactly what your champion is armed with as they fight and move around. Items can be modified and crafted: jewelry making, enchantment, alchemy and cooking are available in the game.

Variety of leisure activities on Runeterra

Various activities in Ruined King allow you to earn rewards and learn something new about the world.

  • Wanted Board: Read Wanted Notices and eliminate especially dangerous opponents for a big reward.
  • Fishing: Meet the inhabitants of Bilgewater's coastal waters and retrieve sunken treasures from the bottom of the sea. In Ruined King, all of your catch is cataloged, and the fish you catch can be eaten or traded with a merchant for Black Marks, which in turn can be used to purchase special items on the Black Market.
  • Bestiary: Gather information about the rewards for killing, as well as the skills and habitats of those creatures that you happen to meet and fight. For defeating a large number of creatures of the same type, champions receive beast runes that provide permanent buffs.
  • Side Quests: Solve riddles, solve mysteries, and complete side quests to earn valuable rewards ranging from items to new ultimates and legendary weapons.
  • Battle Arena: Defeat waves of opponents to earn rewards based on your performance.
  • History of the World: Learn more about the history of the world and be rewarded for the information you collect.

We're very excited about how much the community is looking forward to the release of Ruined King. We will definitely share new details about the game with you in 2021.
