CD Projekt Red released Cyberpunk 2077 when it clearly wasn't ready for release. Luckily, experienced amateurs take it upon themselves to improve the game.
Small Precautions Before Using Third Party Mods
CD Projekt Red does not officially support modding at this time. However, history tells us that the company doesn't really mind their community adapting the game to their needs. They even once approved a list of their favorite mods for The Witcher 3. With that in mind, it's unlikely that using mods to customize your Cyberpunk 2077 experience will result in any issues between you and the developers.
However, the lack of support also means that CD Projekt Red may deny you a refund of your game if you ever end up breaking it for any reason while using Cyberpunk 2077 mods. As CDPR continues to regularly release patches to remove bugs and improve game performance, breaking game files when installing and using mods is a likely occurrence. Since the files are still unstable and amateur modders are still tinkering with the game files, have in mind that you risk breaking the game or losing your saves when using these mods. HOW TO INSTALL CYBERPUNK 2077 MODS
Since the Cyberpunk 2077 mod is still new, it is still not supported by the always helpful Vortex Mod Manager. Perhaps in the future, but not now. The only way to install Cyberpunk 2077 mods right now is to apply the files directly in the install folder. Most mods from Nexus modding communities require download files that will replace resources or add directories to the installation folder. Installing mods is as simple as downloading the files and copying them to your game's installation location. If you can find the Cyberpunk2077.exe and version.dll files, then you are most likely in the installation folder.
Some mods may be exempt from this and may have different installation instructions. Be sure to read the installation instructions and read them carefully. Installing Cyberpunk 2077 mods can end up making your experience even worse, so don't try to take shortcuts down that path. Be sure to also check the comments and forums for each mod to find out more about issues that may occur in the current build.
One more note. Be careful when updating a game from one version to another. If you're playing on Steam, be sure to turn off automatic updates for Cyberpunk 2077. Be sure to back up your game files and saves before updating the game so you don't lose everything if something happens. Sometimes updates can cause old mods to not work properly or cause serious problems in the game, so be careful.

ARE THERE CYBERPUNK 2077 MODS FOR CONSOLE?
While modding has always been an essential part of PC gameplay, it is less commonly available on consoles. Such is the case with the release of Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 4. However, Xbox users may have better luck. Since the game's release, Xbox users have fiddled with the game's files to find a way to create their mods.
