Create your boss

At the beginning of the game, you will have a short introductory cutscene and then you can start creating your boss.

In this first episode, you only change things like your body type and hairstyle, clothing choices will become available later. You don't have to worry too much about character creation right away if you don't want to, you can change all aspects of your character at any time once you've completed the initial mission, and you're not limited in any of your character creation options.

Go to squad

After another short cutscene, you will have a flashback to the actual beginning of the game, where you work for a private military contractor attacking an old western amusement park. Follow the target forward while dealing with a couple of enemies in your path while dodging oncoming bullets. This is the tutorial part where you get used to the combat mechanics and controls.

Meet the Bravo Team

After making your way through the hole punched in the wall ahead, continue towards the burning debris and follow the correct path between the buildings.

Regroup with a platoon

After jumping over the wall, you will meet Marshall's lead squad.

Protect the armored personnel carrier

Gwen instructs you to follow the APC as it advances through the area ahead. There are enemy groups that will appear on both sides of the path and shoot at the APC. The APC fires back, but you will also need to take out as many enemies as possible to protect the APC.

If you are on the intermediate difficulty level or higher (Businessman), then the APC is weak against normal enemies shooting at it. If you're having a hard time, you can intentionally reset the vehicle's combat difficulty, which causes enemies to deal less damage to the APC. If you don't want to do this, you will need to shoot groups of enemies very quickly as they appear, because they disable the war machine pretty quickly just by shooting with normal weapons. Watch out for when the prompt appears,

Sit behind the turret

Once you reach the next open area, the turret gunner will be shot and you will need to run up and interact with the APC to take control of the turret.

Eliminate the enemies

Start destroying enemies all over the area with your turret. Important enemies usually always have a target icon above them. On higher difficulties, this can be significantly more difficult. A simple trick is to use the auto-aim feature, which can be enabled in gameplay settings > challenge options. Hold

After a short period of time, a helicopter will appear in front of you, which also needs to be taken out.

Hold on!

Once the helicopter is destroyed, the driver of the APC gets shot and starts to drive away along the way. You can't do anything here, just wait until he stops moving.

Move forward alone

After you crash into the mine tunnel, you will be alone and will need to keep pushing forward. The game now prompts you to use Takedowns, which are available when your meter in the bottom middle of the screen is full, and are activated by pressing

Continue down the linear tunnel, taking out the enemies as you go.

Meet Gwen

After exiting the tunnel, you will need to meet up with the rest of the squad. Note that you can summon your weapon wheel to switch your weapon if you haven't mastered it yet.  and don't want to try to beat everyone with a gun.

Destroy the enemies

Ahead is another group of enemies that need to be defeated in the city area. Try to stay out of the way to avoid sniper fire at the far end.

Move on and report

After the enemies are defeated, continue walking forward towards the target by the wall.

Pick up charge C4

You will need to blow up the barrier to get through. Turn right to where you are pointed to some C4 on the table that you can grab.

Destroy the barricade with C4

Throw C4 on the barrier with :

Join Gwen's group

Continue through the barrier and you'll meet up with Gwen and Marshall's squad ahead again.

Move to the saloon

Gwen wants you to flank the area to the left, though you can just ignore this if you want and just run down the path ahead.

Grab a saloon

In the saloon, you will need to keep taking out enemies while waiting for more Marshall support. There's a couple on the top level that you can keep an eye on when you're further away and then basically just focus on the enemies that will be running out the front door.

Enter the saloon

After each enemy is defeated, you can enter the saloon's front door for a short cutscene.

Chase the Nahualli

After the cut-scene, you will need to chase Nahually. Destroy all enemies on your way.

Return to Gwen

Once all the enemies have been defeated, Nahualli will escape and you can run out the top door on the balcony to get back to Gwen.

Finish off your enemies

After another cut-scene, you will be above the cockpit of the plane, and the enemies will shoot at you from the platforms around you. They usually spawn in groups of two or three, and it's best to focus on one group at a time rather than getting distracted and switching between them without clearing each group.

There are also explosives littered around the area that you can use to take out groups faster.

After another cut-scene, you will be hanging under the plane, shooting at the enemies on the lower platforms. There are more explosives here that you can use as this is a new area so don't be stingy.

change clothes

Once all enemies are defeated you will earn the trophy/achievement  First F#@!ing Day. You will now also have the option to dress your boss in normal clothes (and redo your previous customizations if you wish).

After confirming the settings, you will automatically start the second story mission.

This ends the main quest. First F#@!ing Day in Saints Row. Next comes the morning commute.
